This is the city we met and fell in love which is why we wanted to have our wedding here. While you're in Charlotte, here is some recommendations of areas to explore!
Uptown Charlotte: For those of you that are not from this area, yes we call it uptown, not downtown. This is the hub for all of Charlotte's sports. Catch a Knight's baseball game at BB&T park which has the best views of the city. Bar hoop to the countless rooftop bars including Nuvelo and Sky Bar. Merchant & Trade is a rooftop bar that is on the top floor of the hotel we will be staying at, The Tryon Park Hotel.
South End: If you're looking for shopping and fun restaurants/bars to explore, this is the area for you. Atherton Mill has popular stores, such as Free People, Lulu Lemon, Sephora and many other boutiques. Walk on the Light Rail Trail to be able to go through the entire neighborhood and make stops on the way at places like Sycamore Brewery, Suffolk Punch, and many other popular places.
Noda: For those that want to see Charlotte's art scene, this is the area to go. Noda, which stands for North Davidson, is an area with so much character, it makes you forget you're in a big city. Start your morning with a coffee from our favorite coffee shop, Smelly Cat. Eat at Haberdish for the best fried chicken in the city or grab some tacos at Cabo Fish Taco. Find unique gifts and art in the stores that line North Davidson. Jack Beagle's is where we recommend going for live music!
South Park: This is the premier shopping area in Charlotte. South Park mall has all the stores ranging from Nordstrom to Dick's Sporting Goods. Enjoy an upscale brunch at Restoration Hardware, a store that lets you sit on their couches while enjoying a bellini.
