Erika and Chandler met in 2018 at the University of Minnesota as lab partners in an undergraduate biology course. But despite the romantic nature of their project on the zebrafish microbiome, it wasn't love at first site. It was months into their friendship when Chandler finally convinced Erika to go out with her.

In 2021, Chandler and Erika decided to go to graduate school together at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Dr. Mueller is now graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine, and Chandler is finishing up her PhD in Microbiology.

Chandler and Erika have always shared a love of animals, and have owned many furry (and one not so furry) pets over the years. Pictured are Rosie the hedgehog, Ralph the hamster, and their current guinea pigs, Hippo and Pancake.

In March of 2024, Chandler proposed to Erika in Paris, France. She said oui!

In the year preceding their big day, Chandler and Erika's relationship has been long-distance for the first time. Erika moved back to Minneapolis in June of 2025 to train as a wildlife veterinarian. But soon they will be together again - and as a married couple!

The past eight years have been filled with love and adventure. Erika and Chandler can't wait to start the next chapter of their lives together!
