Our Story

Once upon a time, in the bustling world of dating apps, where swiping left or right could make or break your destiny, two brave souls decided to take a chance. Little did they know, their thumbs would lead them to something far greater than they ever imagined. It all started with a match. Chandni had a clever opener (or so she likes to think), and Balraj responded with a wit so sharp it practically jumped off the screen. After a few days of banter and GIF exchanges that could rival a stand-up comedy show, they decided it was time to take their talents offline. Fast forward to a cool summer evening in downtown Toronto. They met at a cozy bar that had just the right amount of mood lighting to make them look extra attractive. Over drinks, they talked about everything from their favorite foods to the TV shows that had them hooked. As the hours flew by, it became clear that they weren’t just two people on a date—they were two people who had finally found someone who understood why pineapple absolutely does not belong on pizza. After drinks, instead of calling it a night, they decided to take a walk through the city. Toronto was alive with its usual energy, and as they strolled, they discovered just how much they had in common. Their love for music turned into an impromptu debate over the best live music they’ve ever seen. Their mutual foodie status had them pointing out restaurants we “just had to try together”—a list that’s still growing. And don’t even get them started on TV shows. By the end of the night, it felt like they had known each other for years. It’s funny how one simple swipe led to hours of laughter, agreements about music tastes, and the realization that they had found something special. And the rest, as they say, is history. Well, except for the part where they’re about to get married. That’s happening very soon, and they couldn’t be more excited to share their story—and their lives—with all of you.

Schedule Start time: 1 pm Baraat Arrival: The wedding festivities will commence with the Baraat. The groom will arrive accompanied by his family and friends, who will joyously dance to the rhythms of a traditional dhol. This vibrant procession will begin in the parking lot and proceed to the entrance of Sanatan Mandir. At the entrance, the bride’s mother and sister will extend a heartfelt welcome to the groom’s family, marking the ceremonial union of the two families. Milni (Welcoming Ceremony) : Following the Baraat, the Milni will take place. This traditional ritual involves an exchange of garlands or greetings between key members of both families, symbolizing the coming together of two households in harmony and mutual respect. Ceremony 2 pm The sacred wedding ceremony will be held beneath an elegantly decorated canopy-like structure, known as the mandap. A Hindu priest will preside over the ceremony, leading the couple and their families through a series of time-honored rituals. The bride and groom will be seated before the priest as Sanskrit verses are chanted, accompanied by English explanations to ensure all guests can fully appreciate the significance of each ritual. A detailed wedding program will be available at the venue for those who wish to follow along with the proceedings. Dinner 5 pm Dinner will be served in the mandir’s dining hall. Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully curated menu of vegetarian dishes, predominantly inspired by Indian cuisine. The choice of a vegetarian menu reflects a spiritual philosophy that honors and respects all living beings. Rest assured, each dish has been carefully selected and taste-tested to provide a delightful culinary experience.
