Beautiful area to visit.
There’s downtown Helen that will be holding their annual event of Octoberfest that is a huge deal in Helen, they have it for a month or longer every year. It can get very crowded so if you plan to go , make a day of it and go early. There’s plenty to do , a lot of walking, anything German you could think of I’m sure.

Many things do to in Dahlonega itself. Some historic sites as well. From the locals, Dahlonega was big into coal mining and if not mistaken the 1 st coal mining town. But don’t quote me on that haha!!

This is from a lady that we rented an Airbnb Oct 23. Yes! Her favorite is Jethros Coffee & Public House on 21
N Grove Street (iust outside the square). Great atmosphere and friendly service. My favorites are The Golden Nugget or Boots with the Fur. They have some pastry type snacks as well. They have a Facebook page with more updated info.

Dessertery is located on the square
(30 Public Square S) and has more of a menu for breakfast & lunch. The folks there are very sweet, and their desserts are delicious! My favorite sweet of theirs is the cannoli.
