Sometimes love shows up when you least expect it… like when you’re crying on your best friend’s apartment floor.

So here’s how it all started: I was sitting on Autumn and Zach Beatty’s floor, venting (and maybe a little dramatic) about how I couldn’t seem to find a good guy. Zach had just done something really sweet for Autumn, and I looked at her and said, “Why can’t I find a guy like THAT?”

Right away, Zach goes, “Chuck!”

Now, I had no idea who Chuck was. I looked at him and said, “Who is Chuck?”

Turns out, Chuck had just been in Gatlinburg visiting Zach the weekend before. They’d spent time catching up, and Chuck had left such a great impression that Zach didn’t even hesitate before throwing his name out there.

Zach and Autumn set us up digitally, and honestly, I didn’t expect much—long distance, never met, just didn’t seem like it would go anywhere. But we started Snapchatting, then texting, then FaceTiming… and suddenly I found myself thinking, “Wait, I really like this guy.”

Then Chuck came to visit me in Sevierville… and I just knew. This was it. I was going to marry him.

From there, we were all-in—visiting back and forth between Tennessee and Kentucky, making trips to see my family in North Carolina, and spending time together at one of our favorite places: Camp. That’s what Chuck’s family calls their beautiful property in Kentucky, and it became our little escape. It’s where we laughed, relaxed, camped out, and really fell deeper in love.

So when it came time to pick a wedding venue, the choice was easy—Camp was the place. We’re so excited to say “I do” surrounded by the people we love, in a place that means the world to us.

Almost three years, 9 countries, 2 years of long distance, a sweet fur baby named Zelda, and lots of video games later… we’re engaged!
