Ladies and gentlemen, before we dive into the part where two people promise to love each other forever, let’s rewind the story a little.&nbsp; Let’s start with the bride, since she is clearly the main character in this story. Her name is Anna. She was born in Chernihiv, a city in the northern part of Ukraine—famous for its ancient cathedrals, beer, and women who can outsmart Google Translate. Anna was the kind of teenager who didn’t just watch TV—she used it as an educational tool. At 15, while other kids were quoting cartoons, Anna was watching Desperate Housewives in English to improve her language skills. Because why not learn about grammar and suburban drama at the same time? Her first plan was to move to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. But as life would have it, the university she hoped for didn’t quite pan out. A friend suggested she study in Poland instead. And just like that, Anna packed her dreams - and her dictionary - and moved to Lublin Poland, where she earned a degree in English. But one country wasn’t enough… so she went on a student exchange for six months in sunny Jaén, Andalusia Spain, where she perfected her Spanish... and her tapas ordering skills. After graduation, she moved to Warsaw for work. Big city, bigger opportunities. Since 2018, she’s been working in HR—aka, she’s a professional people person.&nbsp; And in case you’re wondering how international this woman really is: Anna speaks Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, and English. Born in Ukraine, educated in Poland, studied in Spain, and soon - married in America. Now—cue the romantic music. Enter Charles. Handsome. Charming. Mildly confused by Tinder’s algorithm—but incredibly fortunate. Because somehow, on a platform not exactly famous for fairytales, he managed to swipe right on his future wife. Charles hails from West Palm Beach Florida, and is a first generation American. Born of Cuban and English descent - his blood is most importantly Orange &amp; Blue (Go Gators!).&nbsp; From the first conversation, something clicked. Despite being from different worlds — and time zones— they found common ground in humor, values, and a shared belief that love can travel further than geography. What started as a match turned into messages, then calls, then flights, then... this day. So now, we celebrate a love story that spans countries, cultures, and dating apps. A story that proves that no matter where you're born, what language you speak, or which TV show taught you English—when it’s meant to be, it finds a way.And sometimes, it starts with a swipe. But let’s just say: neither Charles nor Anna were planning to fall in love with someone who lived across the ocean. Now, matching on Tinder is one thing. Actually meeting in person is another. But falling in love in Rome? That’s the stuff of movies (we will happily sell our story to Hallmark for an appropriate sum!)… and exactly where this story takes a leap from swipes to swoons. In March 2024, Anna and Charles decided to test this spark the proper way: pasta, wine, and the streets of Rome. (Because if you’re going to risk heartbreak, you might as well do it near the Colosseum.) Between gelato and long walks under the Roman sun, something beautiful began—something more than vacation photos and pizza cravings. Then came July, and the couple found themselves in Mallorca. Sun, sea, and the realization that Anna was slowly becoming addicted to Charles sense of humor and his ability to navigate any airport on earth like a pro. By October, they were strolling through the hills and colorful streets of Lisbon. Three countries, countless memories, and one growing feeling: this wasn't just a long-distance romance. This was the real deal. Then Charles did what every man in love does when he wants to make things serious: he invited her to meet the family. For Christmas. In America. Now, let’s pause here—because this wasn’t just a simple invitation. For Anna, this meant facing the full force of the U.S. immigration system, which is basically like applying for Hogwarts, but with more paperwork and fewer owls. Still, Anna is fearless. She put on her heels for the visa interviews and got that precious travel visa. A few months later, she was spending the holidays with Charles and his family. Where promptly she was exposed to South Florida… and almost most importantly the Noche Buena pig! Just when you thought it couldn’t get more romantic... March 26, 2025. Warsaw. Old Town. In front of the Royal Palace. Charles got down on one knee and asked Anna to marry him right in front of the auspicious statue of King Sigismund - the most powerful and famous king of Poland. Spoiler alert: She said yes. And Then the U.S. Government Entered the Chat (Again). And in any international love story, there's always one supporting character nobody asks for: immigration law. Anna couldn’t stay in the U.S. on a travel visa—not permanently, anyway. If you’re wondering why, just turn on the news. It took months—of waiting, of emailing, of refreshing government websites and trying not to scream into the void. Charles is. Steady. Loyal. Kind. The kind of guy who sees a girl from northern Ukraine with a suitcase full of languages and a passport full of stamps—and thinks, that’s the one.From day one, he wasn’t just in this for the sunshine moments. He was there for the video calls, the late-night time zone math, the nervous embassy mornings, and the endless refreshes of a government website that never loads on time. (Charles did in fact get frustrated a time or two when things did not work correctly!) And eventually, after months of waiting and wondering, the answer finally came.Yes. Yes to the visa. Yes to the future. Yes to the wedding &amp; celebration you’re all invited to celebrate. Because if there’s one thing this story proves, it’s that real love might not always be easy—but it’s worth every step, every flight, every form. It crosses countries, bends timelines, and yes—sometimes waits on hold with immigration for hours. But in the end?True love always wins.
