It all started when Charlee's parents (Cam and Heather) met Joshua's mom (Robin) when she was their boss at Cranhill Ranch in Michigan. (See if you can spot our parents!!)

A Long Time Ago

After Robin was stationed in Charleston through the Navy, she reached out to Heather to set their three kids up on a playdate:)

Not That Long Ago

After Joshua's best friend (Groomsman, Porter Wren) transferred to Charlee's high school, they reconnected and quickly became inseparable.

In High School

They committed to Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa: the same college that Robin, Cam, and Heather went to, and are set to graduate 20 days before their wedding.

In College

After almost four years of dating, Joshua proposed under the beautiful Charleston Oaks.

Bella has been by my side since freshman year of High School, so it is only fair(since I stood beside her at her wedding in December 2024) that she stands right beside me at mine:)
She is a wonderful example of what it means to be a servant-hearted leader, and I am lucky to be loved by her.

There are only 3 years of my life that I lived without my little sister Bria, and I can't remember them at all, so they must not have been that great without her! She has loved Joshua since the beginning, which is good for him, because if she didn't, we would surely not be getting married. 

Briahna Lynae Olson

We call her Mini because she has always been a "mini-me", but I would argue now that she has become much more beautiful, wise, and mature than I ever have. I am so proud of the woman she has become: our not-so-mini sister.

I never thought my type-A, neat-freak sophomore year roommate would turn into one of the most important people in my life, but here she is, 3 years later: the "yin" to my "yang." No matter how messy and unorganized my life gets, I can't seem to shake her patience for me every day.

Lots of girls dream of their friends marrying someone they are related to, so they can be related forever. So when Tyra married my cousin, Carter, in May of 2025, it was a total dream come true. I am so lucky he has such good taste in women:)

Since I threw her plastic turtle in the toilet when we were very little, I have been like a little sister to Ellaree. I have looked up to her as she gracefully navigated middle school, eventually graduated from high school, and envied her as she graduated from college in 2025. She is a constant inspiration and encouragement for me to follow just one year behind.  

Ellaree Rae Estes 

Since the first encounter I had with Sara while she was just a recruit at Northwestern, I knew we were cut from the same cloth. After months of praying that she would commit to Northwestern so we could be friends, I got to be there when she signed the papers. From then on, we have never been apart. I am so grateful for the Lord's masterful timing in putting this sweet soul in my life(and in my apartment Senior Year!)

Sara Nicole Thonvold

One awesome thing about marrying a twin is gaining the brother I never had. Jacob and Joshua have been best friends since they were born, and I am lucky to witness the brotherhood that they share. Nothing could ever come between these two, and I wouldn't dare try. That is why I am thankful that Jacob can accept me into their bond, without too many complaints...

Jacob Jeffrey Lewis 

Porter has played a pivotal role in this wedding; I'd even say there wouldn't be one at all if it weren't for him. His ability to love others well and initiate community led me to be reintroduced to his best friend Joshua at a get-together in our Junior year of high school. His steady friendship with Joshua throughout their childhood and into adulthood is a well-placed "invisible string" that ended up bringing Joshua and me together. And for that, we could not be more grateful:)

John Porter Wren

While it was surprising that my cousin Carter was selected to be my boyfriend's random roommate going into their freshman year, it was not surprising that they got along great. Over the past 4 years, while Joshua and I have gotten to know CJ and Tyra, we have realized that while they are related to us, we will also surely share a lifelong friendship, no matter where we end up.

From long theological talks to late-night hot tub discussions, Joshua has always felt comfortable being himself around Kaden. While their personalities are completely opposite, they have found a way to always appreciate each other's thoughts and theories. For me, it has been so incredible to watch two of my closest friends truly accept someone that I love and treat him as if he's always been a part of our friendship.

After just one year of baseball together at Northwestern, Joshua, Daniel, and I (through association) were fast friends. He is always down to do something spontaneous and fun, which has led us to embark on many adventures together. While Daniel is always good for a laugh, he is also a very dependable and helpful friend. Joshua and I know we can count on him for anything.

Daniel Dylan Davis Minks

While Coltin and I started as friends first because of track at Northwestern, Joshua was quickly adopted into the friendship. And then, when Joshua joined track our Junior year, they bonded even more through practices, meets, and weekend hangouts. Coltin is always a joy to be around, and his unwavering kindness to the two of us throughout college has meant the world, we know this is a lifelong type of friendship.

The roommates!! These four have been a pivotal part of Joshua and I’s lives our entire time at Northwestern. We have shared many laughs, baseball games, poker/card games, cups of coffee, and trips to Culver’s. They are each so easy to love; we are just so grateful they can put up with Joshua’s living habits….

The perfect place to spend the afternoon with loved ones. Located in beautiful Downtown Charleston, grab lunch and make your way to the waterfront to view God's creation, including rescue turtles, rays, sharks, and many more!

South Carolina Aquarium

Put on some sunscreen and head to the beach! There are many beautiful beaches in Charleston, but if you're looking for showers, bathrooms, and restaurants close by, the County Park is your best bet!

Leaving the beach and want to grab some dinner close by? Acme offers every kind of low-country dish you are craving during your stay in Charleston. From fresh fish caught that morning, to homey country-fried chicken, you are sure to leave happy, and with leftovers. (Make sure to either make a reservation or come early; this place is loved by many locals.)

A staple of the Low Country, Lewis' BBQ has something the entire family will love. From numerous cuts of meat to choose from and endless delicious sides, Lewis has it all. Not far from Downtown Charleston, this is a place you will not want to miss. (We also might be biased because of the name...)

Get the family together for a few hours of friendly competition and guaranteed laughter. Top Golf is only 10 minutes from the Charleston Airport and less than 15 minutes from all the hotels suggested by the bride and groom!

Topgolf Charleston

Located right on the Beautiful Charleston Harbor, Shem Creek is the perfect place to explore some Charleston wildlife and grab a bite to eat right on the water. There are many restaurants to choose from that serve any type of cuisine you could want (although we do recommend making a reservation!). After dinner, take a walk down the boardwalk at sunset to look for some birds, alligators, turtles, and dolphins. If you're adventurous, kayak and paddleboard tours are also available!

Shem Creek Marina

The DIME on Daniel Island offers awesome breakfast and coffee options while also being located right on the Charleston River Harbor. Grab a coffee and take a scenic walk through the trees on Daniel Island's 5k walking trail.

This little breakfast/lunch spot is a crowd favorite for both the Olsons' and the Lewis'. However, this is definitely not on the healthy side...but in our opinion, it's worth it.
