For a unique, bird's-eye view of the&nbsp;<a href="https://travel.usnews.com/Las_Vegas_NV/Things_To_Do/The_Strip_62985/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Strip</a>, take a ride on the High Roller at The LINQ. Standing 550 feet tall and 520 feet in diameter, the observation wheel is the largest in North America. The massive Ferris wheel features 28 handcrafted pods made out of Italian glass that can hold up to 40 people each. How long is the LINQ High Roller ride?A trip around the observation wheel takes about 30 minutes, and recent travelers say it's a great time to snap photos of the nearby casinos and attractions. One of my favorite places to watch live jazz and blues is at the Mob Museum's basement-level speakeasy, The Underground. The cozy lounge has delicious cocktails and free admission if you know the secret password (hint: check Instagram). –&nbsp;<a href="https://www.usnews.com/topics/author/reannon-muth" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Reannon Muth</a>Back in the day, not even Vegas' neon lights could distract Americans from Sin City's darker side; today, The Mob Museum sheds light on the city's pervasiveness in the 20th-century gangster era. Las Vegas' former federal courthouse – located in the downtown area a few blocks northeast of the&nbsp;<a href="https://travel.usnews.com/Las_Vegas_NV/Things_To_Do/Fremont_Street_Experience_12894/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Fremont Street Experience</a>&nbsp;– now houses distinct interactive exhibits devoted to exposing America's mob history.Visitors to the museum will learn about such notorious gangsters as Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel and John Gotti and the dedicated G-men and FBI agents like J. Edgar Hoover, Eliot Ness and Harry Anslinger, who worked to quell crime across the country. This five-block pedestrian-only thoroughfare is famous for its “Viva Vision Light Show,” which is displayed on a barrel vault canopy that measures 1,375 feet in length above the street. The light show, which features music from artists like Shakira and Imagine Dragons, is equipped with 6.4-million pixels and a 600,000-watt sound system. The six- to eight-minute light shows occur every hour between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.; music plays in between each show and free nightly concerts take place across three different stages.Other attractions here include the&nbsp;<a href="https://travel.usnews.com/Las_Vegas_NV/Things_To_Do/SlotZilla_Zipline_66120/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">SlotZilla Zip line</a>, which soars up to 11 stories above the pedestrian walkway, and the Golden Nugget casino. More than a place to gamble, the casino houses a 200,000-gallon shark tank and the “Hand of Faith”– the biggest golden nugget in existence. Those with an interest in the city’s retro neon signs will also find a few along Fremont Street, including the 90-foot-tall neon cowboy called Vegas Vic.

The fountain display starts at 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and goes until midnight. Saturday, Sunday and holidays, it starts at noon and ends at midnight. Recent travelers found the 360-degrees of the&nbsp;<a href="https://travel.usnews.com/Las_Vegas_NV/Things_To_Do/The_Strip_62985/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Strip</a>, the city and the desert worth the trip.TicketsDuring the day, tickets to the High Roller&nbsp;cost $29&nbsp;for adults and $10&nbsp;for kids ages 4 to 12; in the evening (7&nbsp;p.m. to midnight), tickets cost $39&nbsp;for adults and $19&nbsp;for kids. For another adrenaline rush, there’s Fly LINQ, the only zip line on the&nbsp;<a href="https://travel.usnews.com/Las_Vegas_NV/Things_To_Do/The_Strip_62985/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Las Vegas Strip</a>. Riders launch from a 12-story tower and reach speeds up to 35 mph. The zip line is open from 2 to 10 p.m. daily. Tickets start at $49.The shopping includes national retailers like Harley Davidson and the unusual like I Love Sugar, a 14,000-square-foot, two-story candy shop. Entertainment options abound as well and range from comedy and magic to live music. The minus5, an ice bar created from 100 tons of custom-carved ice, is among the bar and lounge options. Admission to the bar costs $24 for adults; children ages 7 and older are welcome until 9 p.m. for $13.Restaurants at the LINQThere are more than 20 restaurants at the LINQ, including Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen and Bar.
