Almost eight years before they say "I do," Chase and Lexi met the way many great love stories begin: at an apartment party in Ames, Iowa. Lexi was technically behind enemy lines as a University of Iowa student in Cyclone country, but she took the risk anyway. The two instantly clicked, talking for hours until Lexi made the power move and asked for Chase's number.

For the next two years, they dated through college, racking up miles between Ames and Iowa City and somehow merging their friend groups into one big crew that still keeps in touch today. After graduation, they moved into their first apartment in West Des Moines, then made their way to Kansas City, where they continue to build their life together.

In March 2025, Chase asked Lexi to marry him, surrounded by both of their families in Sioux City, the same place they'll tie the knot this August. They can't wait to celebrate with all of their favorite people and prove that sometimes, the best decisions really do start at a random apartment party.
