In Chase's Words:

Chase and Kali’s story started many many many years ago when Kali saw a little 6 year old blonde boy when she was around 3 years old and she fell in love instantly. That little blonde boy was Chase and he was blind to women then and for several years to come. Chase was friends with Kali’s older brother and would often hang out with him giving Kali a sneak peak of the love of her life. Chase continued to be blind and graduated high school and went off to college to play football. During this time, Kali tried to message Chase a few times and Chase did not often message back because he thought he was too busy with football. Kali went off to college and still thought of Chase through the years. Chase decided he felt called to Alaska, so he left Oregon and moved to there. Kali decided to message Chase about her brothers upcoming wedding, and he finally pulled his head out from his butt and realized how awesome and amazing Kali was and started messaging her back. Chase fell in love with Kali very early on when they initially started talking without ever meeting her in person because of how incredible she is. The ironic part of this whole relationship is Chase and Kali grew up approximately 8 minutes apart and are now over fifteen hundered miles apart. Chase came back to Oregon for a quick trip and met with Kali the first night he got back before he did anything else. As soon as Chase saw Kali he knew that was who he wanted to marry. Chase and Kali also kissed for the first time that night. Chase and Kali officially started dating a week later and were together a few days short of 8 months before Chase decided to propose. Chase and Kali went on a hike and Chase forgot the right way to go as it had been awhile since he had hiked there. Due to this error, Chase and Kali had to hike up a steep hill through poison oak, burrs, and many other weeds. Kali may or may not have been in Birkenstocks while doing this. By the time they reached the meadow where they were trying to have a picnic while watching the sunset, Kali’s yoga pants were completely covered in burrs and both Chase and Kali’s ankles and feet were cut up. After enjoying a beverage and a charcuterie board, Kali said she wanted to leave because it was getting dark and Chase decided to propose and become the luckiest man alive. Kali said yes after an initial reaction of asking if he “was serious“ first. This took place right at sun down and Chase and Kali had to bush wack up the hill more to get to the road out. As Chase and Kali walked out in the dark, God put on a beautiful display of stars for them to enjoy.

Much like the day of the proposal, Chase and Kali’s relationship has been filled with uphill battles and some hard days. God has continued to provide and bless Chase and Kali in their relationship as they continue to grow together and individually.
