Our Wedding

How They Met

Kyle and Chayse were set up on a date by coworkers in June of 2019. Their first date and first time EVER meeting was at their coworker's home in Sullivan, WI.&nbsp;There they spent the night grilling out, enjoying some beverages, and getting to know each other. The couple hit it off immediately, and Chayse found out that Kyle was getting a puppy in just a few short months, so of course she just had to see him again 😊&nbsp;

Second Date

Kyle and Chayse ended up having their second date only a few nights later at Marcine’s in Mount Vernon, WI. They had dinner, then spent the rest of the evening driving around the back roads listening to country music, and getting to know each other even more. Since that first date Kyle and Chayse have not gone more than two or three days without seeing one another.&nbsp;They both realized quickly that this was going to be something incredible, and they were ready to see where life was going to take them.

Engagement

In 2020, Kyle and Chayse (and the dogs!) joined Kyle’s family up in Tomahawk for the 4th of July weekend.&nbsp;After the holiday weekend was over, Kyle and Chayse headed up to Bayfield, WI to spend the rest of their vacation.&nbsp;Their AirBnb was near Lake Superior so they decided to take the dogs on an evening walk near the water. Right before returning from their walk Kyle and Chayse sat down on the bench to enjoy the beautiful sunset a little while longer. Before Chayse even realized what was going on, Kyle was down on one knee! Chayse does not really remember what Kyle said, and before she said yes, Chayse repeatedly asked if he was joking! (Poor Kyle!!) It took Chayse a moment to catch up, but of course she said YES!!&nbsp;

The couple lives in Dodgeville WI, with their two dogs, Luna and Cash.&nbsp;Luna is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever, and the little pup that Chayse was waiting for after that first date!&nbsp;Kyle must of really REALLY &nbsp;loved Chayse, because he let her bring home a second dog shortly after moving in, Cash, a rescue pit/lab mix from Texas. Kyle works for the DNR as a Wildlife Technician out of Spring Green, WI. While Chayse is a Store Manager for Kohl’s Department Stores in Madison, WI. The couple cannot wait to celebrate with everyone on September 25th, CHEERS!&nbsp;

Our Story

**We apologize for the inconvenience, but the Holiday Inn Express is completely booked up for the night of our wedding** Please review the additional hotel options that we have listed below. There are 3 additional hotels in the area, and our FREE venue shuttle will take you back safely to any of the following locations. Reminder: We do not have any rooms blocked off at the three additional hotels. Only 3.2 Miles from the Wedding Venue. The Holiday Inn is also just a short .3 mile walk to the local taverns on the Historic Second Street in downtown Platteville. The Holiday Inn Express does include Free Parking and a Continental breakfast in the morning.

Even though we do not have accommodations in place for our Guests at the Country Inn and Suites. This hotel is an additional option for traveling guests to stay at in the Platteville area. The Country Inn and Suites is only 3.1 miles from the Wedding Venue. The Country Inn and Suites is also only a short .5 mile walk to the local taverns on the Historic Second Street in Downtown Platteville.

Even though we do not have accommodations in place for our guests at the Super 8 in Platteville. This hotel is an additional option for traveling guests to stay in the town of Platteville. The Super 8 is only 3.3 miles from the Wedding Venue. The Super 8 is only a short .7 mile walk to the local taverns on the Historic Second Street in Downtown Platteville.

If you do not wish to stay in Platteville, the next town over is Belmont, WI. The Quality Inn in Belmont, WI is located 6.6 Miles from the wedding venue. The shuttle provided by The Barn is happy to take guests back to Belmont for a safe ride.

Things to Do

Best Friends with the Bride since 7th grade, probably even longer! Haily and Chayse grew up together in Darlington and were teammates in volleyball, basketball, and track.  They even worked together at Bridges Restaurant & Banquet Center throughout high school and even a bit in college. After high school they both attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and were roommates there.  Haily just bought her first home with her boyfriend Kyle this past year, welcomed home a new puppy name Jack, and they will be welcoming a new little one to their family in August! Congrats Haily!

Bryce and Kyle became best friends back in high school, and that friendship continued into college where they lived together at the Bassett House.  They’ve remained very close over the years and have many memories to look back on including Badger games, country concerts, weekends at Miller Lake, and late-night conversations. Bryce is the person Kyle goes to for advice and someone he can always count on. Kyle was honored to be a best man at Bryce’s wedding, and is extremely happy to have Bryce standing next to him in September.

Tracy and Chayse grew up in neighboring towns, but met in the 2nd grade at the same basketball camp.  From 2nd grade until their senior year of high school they competed against each other in basketball & volleyball.  They met up once again at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where they came became roommates and moved to Madison together after college.  Over the years Chayse and Tracy have attended several country concerts, many Friday Night Fish Fry's, and have traveled to many states together.  Tracy just graduated from grad school this past May from the University of Michigan! Congrats Tracy! 

Tracy Steffes 

Kyle and Kyle got to know each other through mutual friends while attending UW-Madison. They ended up having several of the same classes, playing intramurals, and hanging out on Badger Saturdays.   However, their friendship really grew through their passion for the outdoors. They have countless memories from weekends at Miller Lake, traveling out west to National Parks, and enjoying Wisconsin’s natural resources. If these two are hanging out, you can likely find them in the woods, on the water, or playing a few games of cribbage. Kyle is honored to have Kyle be a best man in September.

Elena and Chayse have been friends probably for longer than either of them can remember.  They both grew up in Darlington and were on the same basketball team for 9 years together. Elena and Chayse have shared many adventures over the years, and still have a few stories they don't want to share with their parents.  Even after high school they attended separate colleges, but remained close friends over the years. Chayse stood up in Elena's wedding back in 2017. Elena now has two beautiful children and just built and brand new home her husband Blake! Congrats Elena :)!

Devin was the first person to reach out and introduce himself when Kyle started a new job and moved to Mayville. They first connected while playing basketball at the TAG Center, and their friendship and basketball chemistry developed quickly, and Devin became one of Kyle’s best friends. From here, they have had countless memories hunting, fishing, coaching and playing basketball, going to Badger games, and spending time at Buddahn’s bar.

Chayse and Emily met in 1st grade when Emily moved to Darlington. Emily and Chayse became best friends around 7th grade where many sleepovers and pool parties became their normal routine. Emily and Chayse would probably blame Elena for any other trouble they got it ;)! Even after high school and attending different colleges they remained close friends traveling from one side of the state to the other.  Chayse stood up in Emily's Wedding back in 2018. Since then Emily has had a beautiful daughter, is welcoming another little one in August, and just bought her first home with her husband Andy. Congrats Emily :)! 

Emily Kirchner (Wilhelmson) 

Chuck has been Kyle’s brother-in-law since 2015 when he got married out in Yellowstone National Park. This trip is what started Kyle’s passion for visiting National Parks. Besides this they have been on many other adventures including trips to the Apostle Islands and Turtle Flambeau Flowage, Chuck’s Party Buses, snowmobiling, and fishing trips. Chuck is the older brother Kyle never had growing up, and Kyle is blessed to call Chuck family.

Savannah and Chayse have been close friends since kindergarden.  Growing up out in the boonies of Fayette WI, they shared the same bus seat for 7 + years.  Countless sleepovers, camping trips with Savannah's family, hours of jumping on a trampoline  together, and even more hours spent with Savannah doing Chayse's hair (still true at 28 years old.) Even after high school they still have continued to make the long drives to whatever town they are living in to stay close!

Ross and Kyle became close friends during their high school and college years through a common interest in hunting and fishing. They’ve spent many hours in the woods and on the water and have countless memories to look back on. One of their most memorable adventures was a trip to Glacier National Park, where they caught cutthroat trout from mountain lakes, and encountered moose, bighorn sheep, and grizzly bears while hiking over 60 miles.

Taryn and Chayse have been friends (another one of those longer than either of them came remember!) Both growing up in Darlington and on the same basketball team for 9 years.  Taryn and Chayse have shared many sleepovers, shopping trips, and some interesting New Years Parties at the Evenstad household together over the years! They both attended separate colleges, but still continued to make the trips between Milwaukee and Whitewater to create more memories together! Chayse stood up in Taryn's wedding in June of 2019, and Taryn is expecting her first child this year! Congrats Taryn & Tyler:)!

Erik and Kyle grew up and got to know each other through various sports camps and playing Tri-County basketball. Their friendship continued to grow over the years through weekends spent playing roller hockey, Mario Party, barn volleyball, going to country music concerts, and hanging around the campfire. One of their fondest memories together is a road trip out west to visit several National Parks.

Carley and Chayse grew up together in Darlington and were on the same basketball team for 9 years and volleyball for 6 years.   Many memories were shared together at sleepovers growing up, on the road traveling for basketball, or hanging out at the Riley's riding around ATV's.   Then the memories continued when they got to high school making laps and traveling from town to town in the good ol' Chiva.  Carley and Chayse went to separate colleges, but continued to travel between Whitewater and Darlington to stay close.  Chayse stood up in Carley's Wedding just this past September! Now Carley and her Husband Seth will be welcoming their first child in October! Congratulations again Carley and Seth Butler!

Christian and Kyle met their freshman year of college at UW-Madison where they roomed together in the dorms. They immediately hit it off and became close friends. Their friendship continued to develop over their college years through time spent at Badger games, playing intramural sports, hanging at the Bassett House, and late night Qdoba runs. Kyle was able to stand next to Christian on his wedding day and is honored to have Christian standing by him in September.

Olivia and Chayse  met at their first week of college at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Olivia loves to tell the story of their first interaction together it was one for the books and one neither of them will forget.  Olivia and Chayse were instantly close and became roommates the next semester and lived with each other for another 3 years after that.  Since then Olivia and Chayse have shared one to many cocktails together, attended many concerts, and have taken countless road trips together.  Olivia and Chayse have stayed close friends for 10 years now, and Chayse will also be standing up in Olivia's Wedding this year in July!  Congrats to the soon to be newlyweds Olivia and Casey Casper!!

Maegan and Chayse met their freshman year of high school.  Maegen and Chayse both attended different high schools, but within the same conference.  They spent four years competing against each other in basketball and volleyball.   Then they soon realized that they were both going to be attending the same college at Whitewater.  There they became closer and began sharing one to many late night outs and drinks together! They have found over the years that they share a true love for dive bars, country music, and the Badgers & Packers.  For 10 years now they have road tripped to more sports games, concerts, county fairs, and dive bars  than probably either of them can count!! 

Maegan Miller

Emily and Chayse met in 7th grade through a volleyball club they participated in throughout high school.  They didn't grow up in the same town, but both are from the southwest Wisconsin area.  After high school they also realized they were going to be attending the same college at the University of Wisconsin -Whitewater.  They made plans to meet up their first month and the wild memories began from there.  Emily and Chayse were roommates for 2 years at college than another 2 years in Madison.  You could always find Emily and Chayse in front of a TV  screaming and hollering at the  Badgers or Packers, or  find them dancing in front of any stage to a local band while they lived in Madison.  Emily now lives in Illinois (no worries not cheering for the Bears), but will be making a big move to Nashville Tennessee! Congrats Emily and good luck in your new journey! 

Emily Rose

Stephanie and Chayse also met at Whitewater their freshman year of college. They discovered they both had a love for fitness, being the first ones out on the dance floor, and laughing until they cried. Stephanie was  a group fitness instructor on campus, and Chayse spent almost every week in Stephanie's cycling or yoga classes.  Stephanie also convinced Chayse to run her first and last half marathon! They became roommates for a year before Stephanie moved towards the Milwaukee area and Chayse to Madison.  They have continued to make the trips to grab dinners and still enjoy evenings out together over the years.  And with both being blonde and standing at a whole 5'1 inches they will forever be each others blonde twins. Stephanie will be running her third marathon this year! Way to go Stephanie!

Another one of Chayse's close college friends, Brooke and Chayse met in the same dorm room their freshman year of college at Whitewater.  At Whitewater Brooke and Chayse were roommates for three years, where they shared countless nights past 3 AM together, and tears from laughing so hard.  Chayse would spend the summers at Brooke's parents when working at her part time job.  Over the years they have attended more badger and brewer games than they can count, as well as country music concerts. Brooke and Chayse have also  had the chance to create memories together traveling to Florida for spring breaks, and Nashville with Brookes Family.  In May of 2015 Brooke had a beautiful daughter named Madyson who will be the flower girl of the wedding!
