Johanzynn, affectionately called "Ate (ah-teh, big sister in the Philippines) Zynn" by Chederli and Jordan, has played a key role in many formative moments in both Chederli's and in the couple's lives. She was the one to put lower lid eyeliner on Chederli for the first time in middle school, hear Chederli endlessly vent about a guy at work who wanted to be MORE THAN JUST FRIENDS, and even the one to field 11 PM calls from Jordan when he was panicking about trying to find the perfect engagement ring for Chederli. She is Chederli's role model/favorite person and everybody's best friend. Chederli and Nikki's families serendipitously first met through a partnership between the church Chederli went to growing up and Nikki's family's on-going missionary work in the Philippines. Since then, the two families have seen each other through more than 10 years of life together! We're talking trying to learn the lyrics to Super Bass on our way to church camp in the Philippines, endless sleepovers and late-night gas station trips one summer in high school, attending a college conference with her then-just-friends-now-husband, Weaver, and more recently welcoming their beautiful baby daughter! The first of the cousins! Chederli can always count on Nikki to be the most thoughtful listener, gracious empathizer, and wise, quick-witted advisor. Ask Nikki about interior design, thrifting & antiquing, growing up in the Philippines, and making homemade granola. However, she'll lovingly probably ask you pressing, personal questions about yourself first! We love you, Niks!

Just based on their name combination, Michael and Jordan, these two were practically made for each other. They met when they were 10 years old playing for the Weston Field basketball league, playing against each other with the top two teams, where Michael’s team handed Jordan’s team their one and only loss of the season. However, redemption was obtained after Jordan’s team soundly beat Michael’s team in the championship by more than 20 points, a game where Michael cried mid-game (something he will forever deny or say he “doesn’t remember”). It wasn’t until one year later that they became close in homeroom of their first year of middle school together, where the socially anxious Jordan sat in front of Michael. They’ve been close ever since through 19 years of friendship, from middle school, high school, to even being college roommates. Nothing gets in the way of their bond - even when they almost physically tussled because Michael wouldn’t shut the light off when they were trying to sleep one night in their freshmen dorm room. (Jordan won that altercation when Michael turned off the light once Jordan deepened his voice and commanded him). They made up the next morning over a breakfast buffet. Michael now serves as a sergeant in United States Army with military intelligence stationed in Hawaii. They can go months without seeing each other or even talking, but when they do, they pick it right back up like it was yesterday. Ask him anything mathematics/physics related or really anything trivial at all, and he will have an answer. He is known amongst his friend group to be the smartest person in the room, something Jordan hates to admit. Michael’s loyalty is rivaled by none. Billy and Jordan met in medical school. Jordan remembers Billy as a very awkward and nervous medical student. In fact, he actually thought Billy was just strange. However, they ended up living together for one month during their third year of medical school and built an unbreakable bond. Now they both reside in Philadelphia. Ask them about their shared love for hotdogs and Billy’s love for beer. You can frequently catch them outside where Jordan consistently whoops him in basketball, or if you ever want to play a game of poker with them, please reach out. Funny story about Billy with regards to Michael, the other best man: the first time they met, they almost got into a physical altercation. This was after Jordan had soundly beaten Michael in a wrestling match. However, in true Michael fashion, he claimed that Jordan had cheated. Billy advocated for Jordan‘s victory which prompted Michael and his cousin, Johnny, to confront him. However, peace prevailed in the end, and it was agreed upon and confirmed that Jordan was in fact victorious.

The best big brother. Jordan learned a lot of valuable lessons from Richard. In fact, the things that Richard got in trouble for, Jordan learned how to adapt and get away with. This happened on countless occasions. However, those occasions will not be discussed for Jordan’s sake (kidding). Richard can be tough on the surface but has a heart filled with kindness. Jordan frequently recalls a time when Richard had a bag of chips when they were little children. Instead of eating it on his own, he opened the bag, divided all the chips between Jordan and their sister, Michelle, and saved only the crumbs for himself. To this day, despite being across the country from each other, Jordan continues to look up to Richard for these subtle, yet everlasting, life lessons. Nowadays, you can find Richard residing in San Francisco where he is the culinary director for the Bacchus Restaurant Group, a fine dining entity that is Michelin starred.
