How Cheene and I MetCheene and I first crossed paths through a mutual friend during a time when we were both navigating the healing process from past relationships. It was a season of growth and self-discovery, one that ultimately led us to each other. The amusing twist? Our "cupid," our mutual friend, sent my Facebook profile link to Cheene. At first, she thought it was just a playful excuse to check me out online. Little did we know, that simple act would spark the beginning of our love story. One of our biggest challenges has been the time difference — Cheene is in Texas, USA, while I’m here in Caloocan, Philippines. Our schedules are completely opposite, making it difficult to connect. What began as quick one-to-three-minute calls grew into daily “good morning” and “good night” messages on Facebook Messenger. Those messages soon turned into long conversations — first five-hour phone calls, and eventually, a record-breaking 96-hour non-stop call!Our journey hasn’t been without its hurdles. We’ve faced disagreements, tears, and even moments when interference from others almost drove us apart. Yet through it all, we’ve consistently chosen to stand by each other. A guiding light in our relationship has been Isaiah 60:22: “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” This verse reminds us that love unfolds according to divine timing, and our story is a beautiful testament to that truth.
