There are several major airports you can fly into before heading to the beautiful coastal town of Tavira.

After your flight, you will take a car, train, or bus to Tavira.

Option #1: Lisbon, Portugal (approx. 3-5 hrs. away from Tavira)

Option #2: Seville, Spain (approx. 2 hrs. away from Tavira)

Option #3: Faro, Portugal (most expensive; closest to venue; approx. 30-40 min. away from Tavira)

Bonus Option (Cheapest) #4: Search on Google Flights a one-way flight with the destination as 'Europe', from there, find the cheapest country/date available, and find a separate one-way flight to any of the above airports as internal flights within Europe are very cheap.

Tip #1 Always search for flights in "incognito mode" so your phone and web browser are unable to track your data or your flights will rise in cost

Tip #2 The best day to purchase your tickets are a Tuesday or Wednesday. These are also the cheapest days to fly.

Tip #3 Round trip may not be the best option! Many of our guests will be traveling to Italy, France, Morocco etc after our wedding to take advantage of their proximity. Booking 2 one-way flights may be a better option and other countries may offer better deals.

Tip #4 Make sure you have a card with 0% transaction fees. Cash is also an option, Portugal uses the Euro. Reach out to Mark if you need help finding/setting up a 0% international transaction fee card with no fees.

Tip #5 Check your expiration date on your passport. It takes 3 to 12 months to renew or apply for a passport.

Tip #6 Be a minimalist and take a carry on instead of checking a bag. If your wardrobe is too fabulous for this option, put all of your important items in your personal bag. For example, makeup, wedding outfit, toothbrush, phone charger, travel insurance, jewelry, a change of clothes etc.

We will finalize our travel plans closer to the 6 month mark in January 2025. Our tentative plan is to fly one way from Melbourne to Paris. Some airlines offer discounts on flights for large groups traveling together. If you are interested in joining us let us know! We will stay in Paris & Lisbon for a few days to explore and adjust to the time difference. On Thursday, May 29th we will drive to Tavira. We plan to leave Tavira on Monday, June 2nd and fly to our first honeymoon destination, in which we'd love for any of you to join us, although we understand if you'd like to go elsewhere, details to be announced.
