I don't live in Michigan, how do I get there?
If you are coming from Chicago, there is a train that stops in Holland. The train station is about 2-3 blocks from both hotel blocks and about a 5 minute drive to the wedding venue.
If you're flying in, we recommend flying into Gerald R. Ford airport in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Where should I stay?
We have hotel blocks booked at both the Tulyp Hotel and the Courtyard by Marriot in Downtown Holland from April 24-27th. Both hotels are requesting that guests make reservations by March 24th 2025. Please visit the travel tab for contact information regarding hotel blocks. Another option is using AirBNB or VRBO but please keep in mind availability may be limited.
Where are you registered?
We are registered through the Knot and on Amazon and at Crate and Barrel. A combined version of our registry can be accessed by clicking the above link "registry"
What sort of food will be served?
The dinner we are serving will include meat entrée, starchy side and vegetable side.
If you follow a vegetarian/vegan diet or have allergies/intolerances requiring an alternative meal please reach out to Kevin or Chelsea directly so accommodations can be made in advance.
Where should I park?
The venue includes valet parking (fancy, I know). You can leave your car overnight at no cost and pick it up in the following morning.
Do I need to purchase gifts through specific stores?
No, if you do not want to purchase a gift from the registry from Crate and Barrel, Amazon or the Knot that is totally fine! You can go to our registry, click on the specific item and click "mark as purchased" so it's taken off the registry.
When should I RSVP by?
Please RSVP no later than April 1 so we can give the venue our final head count!
What should I wear?
Boy, if I (Chelsea) had a dollar for every time I asked myself this question we'd be serving lobster at our wedding.
We recommend cocktail attire. Weather in late April will hopefully be not too hot and not too cold, all you'll need is a light jacket. For men, a button up shirt and tie will do. For ladies, a little black dress or flowy springtime frock.
Please no jeans or pretty white wedding gowns.
Do I need to attend the rehearsal?
Our rehearsal is at 2p on Thursday April 24 at Boatwerks. We ask that if you are in the wedding party or have a role in the ceremony that you please attend. If you're wondering if this applies to you, please do not hesitate to reach out!
The rehearsal dinner will be at Hopcat at 4p. If you are in the wedding party or have a role in the ceremony you are welcome to come to the rehearsal dinner with a plus one.
Are you doing a welcome party?
No... but also yes... so kinda? Our rehearsal dinner will be at HopCat in downtown Holland from 4-6p. If you want to stop by after 6p for a brewski beer or to say Hi, we will likely be there until about 8 or 9p.
What's the alcohol situation?
This will not be a dry wedding. If you intend on drinking, please bring your ID and expect to be carded. Please do NOT bring any alcohol into the venue. Boatwerks can and will ask you to leave the premise. Wine, light beer and basic liquor will be provided at no cost. If you would like a higher quality beer, wine or liquor, that will be available upon request and at a cost for the individual.
