Our Wedding

***Please note: We included a section on the event RSVP for folks to indicate whether they'll be staying with us at camp.***--- Cabins will be available for folks who want to enjoy the summer camp experience. The ceremony and reception will take place on Saturday 9/3/22 but we'll be having fun all weekend and guests are welcome to stay at Camp Cavell both Friday and Saturday night. Each shared cabin sleeps 6-8 people (Twin XL sized mattress) and has its own bathroom. Guests will not be charged to stay in the shared cabins. If you would like to stay at the camp and have more privacy, some cabins will be available for private rental at a cost of $100 per night. Please email Pete (peter.steffy@gmail.com) for more info if you're interested in this option. Please note you'll need to bring your own sleeping bag/blanket/pillow/etc. If you are flying in and will not be able to bring your own bedding, please contact us to make arrangements for bedding to be provided. We created a suggested packing list document here: <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/121DXIjbqgZt7WgsbzFGIFDwCvsOegqJKG8nsTYwH5w8/edit?usp=sharing" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[packing list]</a> We rented a set number of cabins based on how many guests indicated they would stay in their RSVPs. If your response to this has changed, please contact us as soon as possible.

For those who want to stay nearby and would like something more private and upscale, the Cadillac House is a beautiful historic inn located approximately 5 miles from Camp Cavell. **UPDATE: The Cadillac House is currently fully booked for our wedding weekend. There is a chance that they may have a few more rooms available to book closer to the wedding day, but for now we encourage guests to look into other nearby options.***

The DoubleTree Port Huron is a nice larger chain hotel 30 minutes away from Camp Cavell.

If you're looking for something else in the area or if the options listed above get all booked up, there are many other accommodations in the area. Lexington has several small motels, B&amp;Bs and Airbnbs, and Port Huron has a variety of larger hotels.

We are excited to see our friends and family all in one place and hope that all guests take advantage of the opportunity to hang out, make new friends, and enjoy the exquisite scenery at Camp Cavell and around Lexington. Even if you just want to enjoy the scenic view from the main lodge, we encourage all guests to come and stay a while. SATURDAY 9/3:-Lifeguard will be on duty from 10am-2pm for swimming at the camp.-Guests are welcome to explore the woods and beach, or just relax at Camp Cavell. It's a lovely place to spend a few hours before the wedding begins!-Light snacks will be provided along with a basic breakfast (cereal, oatmeal, etc.), but the only full meal will be the wedding reception dinner so guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch or check out one of the many restaurant options nearby in Lexington.-Wedding festivities will begin at 4:30pm! SUNDAY 9/4:-Guests who stay locally are invited to join for brunch at 9:30am. No RSVP is required.-Camp Cavell has asked that we check out by 11:00am so that the staff can prepare for the next group coming in.

Lexington has a small but charming downtown strip with shops and restaurants leading down to the public beach and pier. These are weird times and we want everybody to be safe at our wedding! We will be taking the following precautions: -All guests must be vaccinated and up-to-date on booster shots (unless ineligible for the vaccine). -All guests should take a COVID-19 test prior to arrival. Either a rapid test or PCR is fine. If you test positive or have other reason to believe that you may have COVID-19, we will miss you but please do not attend! -The wedding ceremony will be outside (weather-permitting). We completely understand and respect the decision of anybody who wants to minimize contact and attend for the ceremony but not stay for the indoor reception. -The reception will be mostly indoors (in a large open space) but outdoor areas will also be available for socializing. Dinner will be indoors. Weather-permitting we will open doors and windows for better ventilation. -Overnight accommodations at the camp will be close quarters. If you would like to stay the night but are not comfortable being in a cabin with others, we recommend that you book a hotel room in the area soon or bring camping gear since there will be plenty of space to set up tents.
