Chelsea and Spencer met way back in high school. It was simple smiles as they passed in the halls or maybe running into each other at a dance recital. (Fun fact - McKenzie danced at the same studio as Chelsea and her cousins)


They really started to become friends in junior year English class. *Shout out Miss Stevens!*
Spencer sat behind Chelsea and would occasionally pick on her - to the point Miss Stevens asked if she needed to get involved.


Come to find out, both Chelsea and Spencer had a crush on the other. But as true love stories go, the timing was off. Both were in other relationships.
Now here they are, almost 20 years later, ready to spend the rest of their lives together!


Unknown to them, they would spend the next decade nearly crossing paths. Chelsea would shop at The Andersons where Spencer worked. Chelsea joined the same sorority as Spencer's cousin-in-law. Chelsea's cousin was one of Spencer's employees. They also spent a lot of time at the same bars and restaurants throughout their 20s. Yet, they never ran into each other. The timing still wasn't quite right.


Fast forward to August 2023. Fresh off of bad breakups, both Chelsea and Spencer were ready to give up on dating in their 30s. As if by fate, Chelsea was scrolling Facebook and decided to check out her “people you may know” and there he was. Spencer Black. Friend request sent.


Over the next couple weeks, Chelsea and Spencer went back and forth liking each other's posts. On September 19th, Chelsea woke up to multiple notifications from Spencer and decided it was time to take a chance. She sent a message. So are we just going to continue liking posts, or are we going to say hello?


The next few days were filled with constant texting and phone calls that lasted all night. Chelsea and Spencer wanted to learn every detail about each other that they could. On September 23rd they had their first date. They had their second date the very next day. They wanted to spend as much time together as possible before Chelsea had to travel for work. On the 25th, Spencer called Chelsea at 4 am so she didn't miss her flight, and sleepily ended the phone call with I love you. They had their third date on the 30th when Chelsea returned from California. And from that point on they were inseparable.


Spencer proposed to Chelsea on March 29th, 2025 at Toledo Botanical Garden.
