Chelsea and William

August 9, 2025 • the Allegria hotel in Long Beach,

Thers is an old myth, before recorded history, mankind once had 4 arms and legs, two heads, and one hearts. Then we evolved apart, creatures with two arms and legs, one head, but half a heart. We become destined to always be searching for our missing halfs, but for some fortune few, they find there other half.

Chelsea and Will have defied the odds, dating and now becoming permanent partners, getting married. Chelsea is a White Witch, a Doctoral Student in Breast Cancer Research, and a passionate conuseur of the beauties of life; while William is a Libertarian Socialist (an Atheist), an amateur historian, and someone who enjoys the simple things in life.

How could these two people ever come together?

Chelsea believes in reincarnation and ancestors acting to help point fate in the right direction. She feels that Will and her were written in the stars and simply meant to be in this lifetime, just like in all their past lives. Her evidence is in her opinion concrete: between the years of 2011 and 2017, Will and Chelsea often passed within inches of each other and somehow only met when the time was right. Chelsea also feels her Grammy and his Grandpa set them up from heaven. Will's opinion of how their story started is based on the actual event that really happened.

In mid-August after going through some pretty challenging things both personally and medically Chelsea decided to download the dating app OkCupid not actually intending on meeting anybody. One night after a terrible doctor's appointment Will messaged Chelsea asking about her doctorate and revealing his first Masters was from the school she was currently attending. From there, the conversation smoothly moved on to egg puns and shared war stories of their childhood medical traumas.

William believes that Chelsea and him met as a matter of chance, one of those moments where fate happens to intervene. To paraphrase Thomas Jefferson, “The harder I work, the more luck I have.” That's why I believe I met Chelsea, I was working so hard at my job as a Field Organizer. I was working more than 40 hours a week and could barely squeeze dates between hours night before sleeping. Despite the new relationship, it was worth all his free time. The connection was so palpable the soon-to-be lovers quickly scheduled an in-person date. Their first date lasted 10 hours with a large amount of time spent right in front of The Allegria hotel in the same spot Will proposed.

As Time Goes By:

Through the intervening years from hello until the ‘I do's’, Will and Chelsea have supported each other through some very challenging times and spent a lot of time on fabulous adventures around the country and everything in between. Together, Will was there for Chelsea as she writes her doctoral proposal, editing and proofreading it through. Similarly, Chelsea was there for Will during the turbulent times of his student teaching, helping to get lesson ideas up and out to his students.

Chelsea and Will are compatible in many ways that are above and beyond their wildest dreams. Now that Chelsea and Will get to go through life hand in hand side by side, the couple is immeasurably grateful for their respective partners and to celebrate their love with all their family and friends.
