Our story began in the fall of 2019, but we actually met in 2018 when Chelsea started at Lake Erie College while Becky was beginning her second year. We met in Andrews Hall and quickly became friends, bonding over our shared love for literature and the classes we took together. The next year, we spent more time together, especially in our film class, and soon, we realized there was something more between us. In early 2020, Becky asked Chelsea to be her girlfriend, and from that moment, our connection deepened.

In March of 2020, we joined LEC’s Women’s Rights Spring Break Trip to Seneca Falls and Susan B. Anthony’s home—what better place for two women to fall in love? As our relationship blossomed, we navigated the challenges of the world changing around us. Despite the difficult times, we supported each other, and in 2020 and 2021, we both graduated, marking the beginning of the next chapter of our lives.

After graduation, we decided to move in together in Fairport Harbor, continuing to build our lives side by side. In January 2022, we adopted our dog Primrose, bringing more joy into our home.

In June of 2023, we visited Hocking Hills, where Becky asked Chelsea to be her wife on June 25th in a beautiful, intimate moment surrounded by nature. But the surprises didn’t end there. On September 5th, 2023, the day we bought our first home together in Painesville, Chelsea proposed right back to Becky, sealing our commitment to each other in the place we now call home.

As we prepare for our wedding in October 2025, we reflect on everything we’ve built together: our family, our careers, and the beautiful life we’re creating in Painesville. Chelsea works at an accounting firm, editing and publishing firm documents. Becky is currently completing her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science at Kent State, with plans to graduate in May 2025.

Our journey has been filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. We have learned to grow together, to support each other through life’s challenges, and to always lift one another up. As we prepare for our wedding in October 2025, we reflect on how deeply we love each other—how our hearts are intertwined and how grateful we are for the partnership we share. Every day, we continue to nurture this beautiful connection, building a life rooted in kindness, respect, and endless affection.
