Do I have to arrive Friday, October 17, 2025?
The Wedding Weekend is October 17-19, 2025, with the official wedding activities happening on Saturday, October 18, 2025. We have a special performance at Opera in Focus at 10 a.m. October 18, and would love for guests to attend!
Due to the early nature of this activity, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to arrive Friday evening. This will make it easier on you.
Is there a rehearsal dinner on Friday, October 17, 2025?
Guests shall make their way to the realm of Schaumburg throughout the day on Friday. No formal feast or gathering is planned, so each noble traveler may dine and unwind as they please. That being said, however, we would love to see you upon your arrival if time allows!
What should I wear to a Medieval/Renaissance Fair themed wedding?
We highly encourage guests to dress in what one would wear to a Renfair Festival! Think lords and ladies, knights, and bards! You can even go more fantasy and be a forest-dwelling fae like an elf or fairy creature, or a wandering wizard. Or a Viking from a Northern tribe! Have fun with it!
If you prefer to dress more modern, fret not - even a simple flourish, such as a crown of flowers or a noble sash, shall honor the spirit of the day. Reach out to Chelsea and Bo if you want website recommendations for clothing options. At the end of the day, we hope whatever you acquire can be worn to many future Renfair Festivals to make it a worthy investment!
Do I have to dress in my "Medieval/Renfair" outfit to all Wedding activities?
The only time you need to wear your "Medieval/Renfair" outfit is to the Ceremony at Merkle Cabin, and the Reception Dinner afterwards at Medieval Times.
Should I bring a gift?
No physical gift is necessary for the Wedding Weekend in October. We hope this will make it easier for travel to and from the destination. (We have our Registry set-up on this site. We graciously will be accepting donations towards our Honeymoon Fund.)
Can I bring my children?
I'm sorry, but we are making the Wedding Weekend in October an adult-only celebration. If this causes you not to be able to attend, have no fret! We plan to have a big wedding reception in the Louisville area next year (2026). That reception will also be Medieval/Renaissance Fair themed!
