Andrew and Chelsea met on Match.com shortly after Chelsea moved to Washington from Minnesota in the summer of 2019. As Chelsea was perusing&nbsp;the new local cuties, she happened upon Andrew's profile. Aside from his good looks, she noticed that he is a teacher, has a strong faith, loves traveling, and is a baseball fan. She had to message him! After chatting on the app, they decided to go on a date.&nbsp;

Andrew and Chelsea both felt the sparks flying during date 1, and agreed to go on a second date. As Andrew brought Chelsea to all the local date spots in Seattle, the sparks flew even more. Soon Chelsea was asking Andrew to meet her family, and vice versa.&nbsp;



Andrew and Chelsea were falling in love as they spent time together going to local restaurants, pubs, and breweries. They met each others friends, had game nights, went kayaking, and watched movies. One of Andrew and Chelsea's favorite things to do together is to be in nature, and Washington has plenty of gorgeous places to do just that!&nbsp;



Andrew and Chelsea were having the times of their lives getting to know each other and exploring together. Then COVID happened, and everything shut down. Times were tough for everyone, including this new couple. Through the tough times, Andrew and Chelsea leaned on their support systems, God, and each other to help them through. During this time, Andrew and Chelsea had a lot of time to talk about important things, including the future and what they wanted. The marriage talk happened, and they both wanted the same thing - to get married!



As the school year was coming to a close, Chelsea asked Andrew to spend the summer in Minnesota with her and her family. Chelsea thought for sure he would propose sometime over the summer in MN. But to her surprise, Andrew Zoom called Chelsea's parents for their blessing, which they happily gave, and proposed to her&nbsp;on their road trip to Minnesota!&nbsp;

How We Met

Andrew decided that he had to do a musical marriage proposal, as he knew music was something that meant a lot to both of them. So, he racked his brain for songs he could sing and play on the guitar, and "I&nbsp;Wanna Grow Old with You"&nbsp;by Adam Sandler came to mind. The lyrics are meaningful to both of us, as we of course want to take care of each other when we get older.&nbsp;He spent weeks learning the song, and eventually felt confident enough to set the rest of his plan into motion on the road trip out to Minnesota.&nbsp;The first night of the road trip, Chelsea and Andrew stopped in Butte, Montana to camp at a&nbsp;KOA. The tent was pitched, and conditions were perfect- all Andrew needed was a fire to light the mood. Much to his chagrin, there was a lack of dry kindling, so the logs wouldn't catch and start the fire. Chelsea noticed Andrew was visibly frustrated, and volunteered so search for substitutes for kindling on her phone. As it turns out, Nacho Cheese Doritos are excellent fire starters. (It's probably all of the strange chemicals they put in that cheese powder). Chelsea volunteered to run (literally)&nbsp;to a nearby convenience store to grab some chips. This was the perfect chance for Andrew to get his guitar out, set up his phone to record, and set the scene.&nbsp;Nervously, Andrew awaited Chelsea's return. After a little while, she came back with the miracle chips, and lo and behold, Andrew was sitting in what appeared to Chelsea a very staged position with his camera facing their chairs. Chelsea sat down, and nervously fixed her hair while half-smiling at the camera. Then, Andrew broke into the song, managing to get through it with few mistakes. After the last line, Andrew got on one knee and proposed to Chelsea. Happily, Chelsea said "YES!"&nbsp;and the two lovebirds&nbsp;laughed, hugged and kissed, with some tears mixed in. From that fateful day forward, the two intrepid traveler-teacher-adventurers were engaged to be married. Needless to say, arriving in Minnesota engaged was a great joy, and fun and carefree times were spent with Chelsea's family that summer.&nbsp;
