Flash back to 2017 at Smithtown High School East, where Chelsea and James crossed paths for the very first time. They shared both math and science classes, but it was as science partners that their story truly began.

Back then, their connection started in the most ordinary way — James would often ask Chelsea for a pencil. She was convinced it was just an excuse to talk to her (and maybe it was!), though James swears he simply never had a pencil.

What began as a casual friendship quickly grew into something special. By their senior year, their bond had deepened — filled with laughter, shared moments, and a spark that neither of them could ignore.

After graduation, fate (and maybe a little bit of planning on Chelsea’s end) kept them together. They both ended up at the same college — though James likes to joke that Chelsea followed him there. Their college years were full of new memories, adventures, and plenty of laughter, only strengthening the connection that began in those high school classrooms.

Fast forward eight years to June 28, 2025, when James brought Chelsea down to Port Jeff on his family’s boat. There, surrounded by the peaceful water and a sunset sky, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him.
