Our Wedding

It all started in August 2022… I had just changed my profile picture on Facebook, and Jeremy had sent me a very sweet message. From there, the conversations never stopped. We texted back and forth for about a month before deciding it was time to meet up and go out on a date. Little did we know that was just the beginning of our story! Our first date was September 20th, 2022. We made plans to meet in downtown HB at Fred’s, which has become one of our regular date night spots. We were both so nervous, but we spent the whole time talking, laughing, and having a great night. From there on we just grew closer and closer. After we went out on a few dates, I had him come to pick me up at my house and meet my parents. I think I was more nervous than he was! A little while after that, Jeremy brought me to meet his son (Liam); his mom; as well as his dad, step mom, and brothers, all within a span of only a few days. From that moment on, I knew there was something special. We always joke about how we went to high school together and didn’t talk at all even though we had a class together. (Fun fact - I actually gave Jeremy my phone number through Facebook chat in 2014). It only took us 10 years after high school to finally acknowledge each other! As time went on, I knew that Jeremy and I were both accepted by eachother’s families, and that was the best feeling in the world! Over the next year and a half, we continued to let our love grow. We both talked about taking the next steps in our future together, but didn’t exactly know when that might happen. I did tell Jeremy that he would have to keep the tradition of asking my dad’s permission (which of course, he did). I can still remember going to dinner with my parents and telling them about how we were talking about getting engaged. When my mom asked how long we had been together, it was funny because my dad shared that they had been together almost the same amount of time when they got engaged themselves. I had no idea when it might happen, or how he might do it, but I did make one request – however he chose to ask me, I did not want it to be in a place with a ton of people! I’m not one for having the attention of a bunch of strangers looking at me, and I wanted it to be special to the two of us. When the day finally came, it was not how I imagined I would react. We had both had a long day of work, and I was very tired so I was definitely moody by the time he arrived to pick me up. Usually when he gets off of work super late, we typically reschedule; but he was determined to keep going with our plans. It was about 9:30pm when we finally got to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings (which was one of the few places open at that time of night), and I was being a bit mean in giving him a hard time about how late it was. Jeremy told me that after dinner he wanted to take me somewhere. Still not suspecting anything, I told him that it was too late and I needed to go home to go to bed. If any of you know Jeremy, you know that he is not good at hiding things (especially from me). After being at dinner for a bit, he started to act all weird and it finally clicked in my head! The nerves started, but I was feeling much better about the night overall. After dinner, he started driving, persistent not to tell me where we were going. He drove us downtown and took me on a walk down to the pier - the exact place we went after our first dinner date together. I knew what was happening, but I still couldn’t believe it was real. Since it was late at night, it was perfect because no one was around. We made our way down to the steps and through some nerves, Jeremy asked me to marry him. I obviously said yes, and our engagement has been an amazing journey. Our love grows stronger for each other each day, and we are so excited to see what the future holds for us. Thank you to all our loved ones who have continued to support and love us through this journey - it really means the world to us. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you soon at the wedding!
