Damon and Chelsey’s journey began in the swine barn at the Madison County Fair when they were just eight years old. What started as a childhood friendship quickly grew into years of shared memories—showing pigs side by side at Illinois shows, traveling to the World Pork Expo and the Illinois State Fair, and spending countless summers together surrounded by the people and animals they loved most.
In July of 2018, fate brought them back together when Damon judged the Madison County 4-H show. That same evening, they went to a St. Louis Cardinals game, and from there, a new chapter began. Damon and Chelsey kept in touch, going to an Eric Church concert in 2020, celebrating weddings of friends, and carrying on their tradition of Christmas shopping for Damon’s nieces and nephews. With each passing year, their bond grew stronger.
On New Year’s Day 2023, Damon and Chelsey decided to give love one more chance—and it was the best decision they ever made. What began in the barn all those years ago had finally come full circle. Their story is proof that sometimes the best things are worth waiting for.
