RSVPing

Do I Need to RSVP?

We would appreciate you sending your RSVP as soon as you can via our online form! The latest we can accept your RSVP for our ceremony and reception is April 15, 2024. If you miss this date we will unfortunately be unable to accommodate you as we need to provide our vendors with numbers shortly thereafter.

Planning Ahead

What Should I Wear?

We would love to see our family and friends dressed up with us! For our ceremony and reception the dress code will be semi-formal.

Semi-formal usually means leaving the jeans and dad-sneaks at home in favour of snazzier wear such as dresses, collared shirts, dress pants, and suiting (pantsuits and jumpsuits included). We ask that the ladies refrain from wearing shades of white.
If you value your ankles, we recommend that you avoid any spiky heels as the festivities will be outdoors.

The photo above should provide some inspiration but feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions!

where should i stay?

We are getting married in a rural community and there is no access to taxis on demand. Under our travel page you will find a list of accommodations within a fifteen minute drive of the wedding site. There are also hotel accommodations available in the city of Miramichi (35 minutes away).

If you are an out of town guest and anticipate needing transportation after the festivities, please let us know and we can help arrange a ride to the nearby accommodations listed.

If you wish to stay in the City of Miramichi we would recommend the Rodd Hotel. Unfortunately we cannot provide transportation to the city, so please plan to have a safe ride back.

Can I bring a guest?

We plan to have a very small and intimate ceremony and reception. We kindly ask that only those named on the invitation attend.

Can I bring my children?

We will be having an adults only ceremony and reception. If you are joining us from out of province and require child care, we would love to help you find a local sitter. Please let us know and we can coordinate.

The Day Of

How do we get there?

The wedding is going to be held at Chelsey’s family cottage near Blackville, NB. You can search for “Blue Jay Lane, Cains River” on your GPS for directions. When you reach Blackville, turn onto Campbell Road and continue straight for eight kilometres until you see signage on the right hand side.

If you are joining us from Moncton, we would recommend taking route 126. Stay on the main highway, if your GPS tells you to turn off the highway on to a dirt road, ignore it. It is a woods road with limited cell phone reception.

I’m just here for the food. What are we eating?

We will be working with Chef Luc Schofield to craft an Italian inspired menu, with a Cains River flair.

Chels understands the struggle of allergies; we will be ensuring there are gluten free, nut-free, and vegetarian options.

Will there be drinks?

We will be providing wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options with dinner. Please feel free to bring along other beverages of your choice to enjoy throughout the remainder of the evening.

Can I Take Photos?

We will be having an unplugged ceremony. Please tuck away and turn off your phones and remind your elders to do the same (lest our vows be interrupted by ringtones emanating from a pre-historic era flip phone).
We have hired a professional photographer to capture our special day and would hate to have devices in the photos. Once the ceremony is done, feel free to capture the day as much as you'd like!
We do ask that you refrain from sharing photos of us on social media until after we’ve had the chance to announce our marriage ourselves.
