Q + A

What is altitude sickness?

We are at 7200 ft in Santa Fe County. Altitude sickness, the mildest form being acute mountain sickness, is a harmful effect of high altitude, caused by rapid exposure to low amounts of oxygen at high elevation. People can respond to high altitude in different ways. Symptoms may include headaches, vomiting, tiredness, confusion, trouble sleeping, and dizziness. To combat this, we recommend drinking a lot of water with electrolytes. We will be providing oxygen cans for those who need it. Any Walgreens will have these as well. Lastly, if you're planning on drinking alcohol, just beware that one drink will feel like two! Any concerns about this, please contact us.

How to dress for NM summers?

New Mexico in the summer is gorgeous - hot days but cool in the shade. At night, it can drop sometimes 20 degrees. We recommend bringing a jacket for the evening. Summer is also partially monsoon season, so bring your rain jackets and mud boots just in case. Bring a large brimmed hat, sunglasses, a personal water bottle, and sunscreen. We can't emphasize enough to drink plenty of water! Help us pray for perfect weather! P.S. Skinny heels are not recommended

Directions & Parking

The Chi Center is on Google Maps and is easy to find. As you are approaching the destination, look for the large stucco entrance gate. Make sure to slow down because the entrance is difficult to spot right away. There is plenty of parking on the grounds and a Chi Center staff member to help you find your room.
