August 4, 2018 will be a day 16 years in the making. They've been dating since 2007 (!!!), but have known each other since 2001 when Chessa was a freshman, and Bob a junior at Glenbard North High school. They dated for a very brief period during this time and went their own ways until 2006 when they reconnected at a graduation party at the Corey home. They made long distance work while Bob attended Purdue University and Chessa University of Illinois, and then again when Bob moved to South Carolina for his first job with Eaton Corp. after college. That job would take him from South Carolina, to Lincoln, IL and then both of them to Providence, RI for a year. From there, Chessa would start dental school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove in 2011, and Bob would move to Fort Wayne, IN. 2013 would finally bring Bob back to the Chicago area for a job with Empire and later that year the couple would move into their very own home in Lombard. Chessa then graduated dental school in 2015.
Bob surprised Chessa with an engagement ring on May 16, 2017 (one day after their 10 year anniversary) at Fullersburg Woods surrounded by many close friends and family and afterward everyone enjoyed lunch and a Cubs game in the bleacher seats.
In 10+ years of dating, they've adopted 3 dogs, run half marathons, triathalons, and marathons, have traveled all over the US, Mexico, and Europe, and have made many cherished friendships along the way. They can't wait to see what adventures, dogs, and friendships await them in their married future.
