For those of you who are privy to hiking, there are plenty of hikes along the Columbia River Gorge to check out. If you are not wanting to hike, plenty of beautiful view points are available to you such as Multnomah Falls, the Vista House, or taking a trip to Hood River, Oregon to grab some food, drinks, and hang out along the river bank to watch all the wind surfers.

Some of the most beautiful areas surrounding Portland include:

Portland is recognized as the City of Roses, and late June just so happens to be peak rose season. If you want to stroll through one of the most nationally recognized public rose gardens, you can find the International Rose Test Garden on the western hills of Portland. If the skies are clear, you might even get a nice viewpoint of Mount Hood while you're up there!
