Our story starts in Waterloo IA. We met at Hawkeye Community College just living apartments apart from one another. At first, we were just friends and socialized while we were in the company of others. We quickly started to realize we had deeper feelings for one another. We became boyfriend and girlfriend on March 21, 2021.

Fast forward a year, Chevy accepted a job at Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids. While Chevy moved away, Michaela stayed in Waterloo to finish her degree. We tried to see each other every weekend while we lived an hour apart from one another. We also had adopted our first dog together, Henri. We had "shared custody" of Henri while living in separate places. Another year passed and Michaela was finally done with college and was able to move in with Chevy in Cedar Rapids. Shortly after moving, Michaela applied at Linn County Sheriffs office to become a Communications Operator. Michaela started her career on many different shifts and various hours, making it difficult to spend time together. One could say our relationship was put to the test. We always encouraged each other to keep going and the hard work being put in would pay off, which it did. We added another dachshund into our family, Willow. Then, in December of 2023 after many hours of overtime and hard work, we were able to buy our first house at the age of 22 & 21.
