Our Wedding

It all started on March 12, 2017, during spring break in Miami, Florida. Terry was in his final year at Indiana University and went down with his boys — Josiah and Stafford — to soak up the sun and make memories. Terry: If you know me, you know spring break was my time to shine, especially when “Billy Bate” came out — that’s my turnt-up alter ego in a cowboy hat. That night, Billy Bate was in full effect: shirt off, cowboy hat on, and barefoot (long story — Terry lost his shoes on the beach). He was heading back to the Airbnb when he passed a group of girls sitting at a bar. He almost kept walking, but something made him stop and turn around. That “something” was Cheyenne. Even though Terry was drunk— Terry somehow managed to muster up enough charm to flirt. Her friends hyped him up, but let’s be clear: Cheyenne wasn’t impressed at first. There’s even photo evidence in our gallery that shows just how unbothered she looked that night… and how ridiculous Terry looked in his bent up cowboy hat. You can tell Terry was clearly on another time. He got her Snapchat, and they took a couple pictures — but honestly, nothing came out of it until they went their separate ways for months. Months later Terry just so happened to scroll and there she was — the beautiful, dark-skinned woman he had a blurry memory of. He finally got on Snapchat and realized she was on there too. Everything fell into place so he reached out on Snapchat, and to his surprise, she responded. At first, they were just cool — swapping memes, and chatting occasionally. Eventually, he got her number, and a few months later, she came to visit him in Nap-Town (Indianapolis). She never told her mom because she was going off a limb. We vibed, but life took us in different directions, and we lost touch for a few years. Fast forward to 2019 — they reconnected and picked up right where they left off. This time, things were different. She came to visit him again, this time in St. Louis. They spent more time together and started building something real. When she was finishing nursing school, he jokingly (but also seriously) told her, “If you get a job in St. Louis, you’ve got a place to stay.” Well… she did. She got the job and moved to St. Louis. From that moment on, they have been inseparable. Since then, they have built a life together — moving from St. Louis to Austin, and now to Dallas (or close enough). They bought a home, made countless memories, and he already knew she was the one. He just needed everything to line up for the proposal. And now here they are. From spring break chaos to forever. He still thinks she’s the most beautiful woman ever, and he feels like the luckiest man in the world.

Cheyenne and I fly mostly out of Dallas- Love Field (DAL). It is majority a Southwest Airlines dedicated airport. We believe it is simpler to navigate and it does not have tolls. DFW is the larger airport in the city which has all the other airlines. You must take a toll to get through DFW. Both airports are about 20 minutes away from the venue.

Has a little bit of everything—shopping, food, and even an ice-skating rink. This is a large mall and more like the general type mall but the best part of it is that it got everything.

Galleria mall

High-end mall with designer stores and cool art installations. It’s indoors and very walkable. Gucci, Louis, Prada all the good stuff that we can’t afford. But if you can afford these things the area. 

NorthPark Center - Mall

Huge food court with live music, outdoor seating, and bars. Great spot for groups.

Legacy Food Hall - Food Court

More relaxed shopping and dining area with a movie theater, cafes, and bars. You can go to Velvet Taco, drive down Beltline and go to restaurants.

Village On The Parkway

A massive entertainment complex with shops, restaurants, a giant Ferris wheel, and more. Super family-friendly. Bars and Cosmo the sports complex. Andretti and other fun things to do.

The Grandscape

Upscale mini-golf bar with cocktails and food. Great for couples or groups looking for fun.

Puttshack

Casual hangout spot with games, drinks, and TVs. Think adult arcade meets upscale sports bar. Very neutral bar. Has some activities to play games. All types of music. It’s a safe spot and not ratchet but not boujie.

Sidecar Social

Great for a relaxed day or sunset dinner. Nice views of the Dallas skyline and lots of restaurants in one spot. If you want to see the best skyline or walk in a bridge towards downtown this is the best area.

Trinity Groves

Urban park built over a freeway! Food trucks, green space, and close to the Dallas Museum of Art. Great for a relaxing walk or casual hangout.

Klyde Warren Park

Terry and Cheyennes personal favorite. Popular with locals—great BBQ, dessert bar included, and it’s family-friendly too. Have to get the brisket.

HurchIns BBQ

Another can’t-miss BBQ spot, known for creative flavors and solid meats. Get there early—they often sell out. This location is right next to the farmers market downtown. There are other locations down there as well for food.

Hurtado BBQ

One of the most famous BBQ spots in Texas. Long lines, big portions, and juicy brisket—totally worth it.

Terry Blacks

Afro Carribean restaurant that turns into a club at night time. Located next door to GVO. It is a vibe overall.

Aldeez Affribean Restaurant

A trendy spot with good food, hookah, cigars, and music. Best for a chill evening or late-night vibe. Dress stylish and expect a younger crowd. Hip hop and R&B

GVO Lounge & Bistro

A sleek lounge with music, cocktails, and an upscale vibe. Check if there’s a dress code—it leans more on the luxury side. When you first walk in it’s more of a bar and at downstairs down a ramp it’s a club/lounge. Will more than likely have a cover charge.

Ekko Lounge

Modern rooftop restaurant and lounge with great brunch, dinner, and drinks. Perfect for day parties or a night out in Addison Circle. Goes from restaurant to bar/lounge at night on the rooftop. There is one location in Addison and another location downtown.

Stirr

Fun nightlife bar with a lively atmosphere and neon aesthetic. Great for drinks and dancing after hours. Gets really busy at night and will more than likely be a line. Get there early enough.

Double D's

Home to the Dallas Cowboys HQ. There’s shopping, restaurants, and photo ops for sports fans.

The Star

Bars, clubs and food. The arts and entertainment district. Expect murals, live music, bars, and fun photo ops. Best explored in the evening. Many places for whatever vibes you want. Be careful down here. Don’t do too much.
