Cheyenne and Jesse met in August, 2016, at Northeast Iowa Community College during their Biology II class. Jesse sat in front of Cheyenne throughout the entire semester (in both lecture and lab). Through various interactions over that semester, they became better acquainted.

The evening after they took their Biology II final exam, Cheyenne went to Mindframe Theater in Dubuque where Jesse worked as a manager. Cheyenne asked the very smooth line, "are you on Facebook?" to which Jesse loquaciously replied, "yeah." They began talking via Messenger and have been in each other's lives ever since.

Jesse and Cheyenne had their first date in January, 2017, at Mindframe Theater and shared their first kiss to "Kiss a Girl" by Keith Urban. They made their relationship official on February 10th, 2017. After just a few months of dating, they moved in together in April, 2017. On December 31st, 2022, Jesse asked Cheyenne to spend the rest of their lives together; she replied, "it's about time!" and, of course, enthusiastically accepted his hand in marriage.

Since their relationship began, they have had many adventures together! Jesse received his bachelors and masters degrees at University of Dubuque. Cheyenne received her bachelors degree from Loras College and masters degree at Des Moines University. They lived together in various Dubuque apartments, apart while Cheyenne was in Des Moines for her masters degree, and even purchased a home in 2022. In 2023, they picked up their lives and made the transition to Waterloo, IA, to begin a new chapter in their book! Along the way, the two adopted (far too many) furbabies. They now have a family comprised of 5 sassy cats: Ginger joined their family in 2017, Apollo in 2018, Juniper in 2019, Cash in 2021, and Katarina in 2023.

They look forward to what the future holds in store for them from this point onward.
