Over the last four years, Joel and I have learned and grown so much. We have learned to be more adventurous.  Between scuba diving, hiking, and camping, our adventure is always a truck drive away. And traveling to places like Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Monterey have always been staple memories for us. 


We started as two 20 year-olds, not knowing where life would take us.  He was a life guard and I was only a year into my career as a childcare provider.  We encouraged each other through our new endeavors. Joel graduated from EMT academy and fire academy, and was quickly hired on by a local ambulance company. I purchased our first house which Joel and I have turned into a home. Not long after that, Joel started his career as a firefighter at the Lompoc Fire Department. I got my certificate as a massage practitioner, and have enhanced and grown my childcare.  


We have filled our home with loving (and not so loving) animals, some as a joint decision, some as a surprise to Joel. And we have filled our driveway with trucks, some as a joint decision, and some as a surprise to me! 


Together, we have completely remodeled our house.  A once outdated, dusty house has become a fresh modern home for us to create our own memories. 


On December 18, 2020, Joel changed my life forever.  He set up a surprise trip to Monterey (the first place he told me he loved me).  We walked down to the beach, and he got down on one knee.  Of course, I said yes! Who couldn’t say yes… have you seen his cute face?!


So, our adventure continues and begins all at the same time.  We are planning, what we hope to be, a beautiful wedding event in a very short period of time.  Why wait any longer to marry the one you love?  


After our wedding, we plan to travel to places neither of us have been… Bora Bora, Costa Rica, and Fiji are all tied for a honeymoon location!


Our journey so far has had many winds and turns.  But any memorable journey does.  One thing we know, is through all the sharp turns, and bumps in the road, our love for each other has only strengthened.  We have taught each other so much, and have truly brought out the best versions of each other.  I cannot imagine where I would be without Joel, but now I don’t have to.
