Our journey has been a crazy and beautiful whirlwind.
In 2016, we met at a summer internship in Washington, D.C. We had the best time working together and exploring all that the city had to offer. Since we lived in different states at the time, we made sure to keep in touch. Following Jonathan’s graduation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in December, we committed to the start of what would be a long long-distance relationship.
While Chloe finished her final year at Clemson University in 2017, we spent countless hours flying back and forth from Jonathan’s new home, Denver, where he worked at United Launch Alliance.
Finally, in 2018, we both moved to New York City. Chloe began working at Tommy Hilfiger while earning her Master of Fashion Marketing. Jonathan left his Denver-based job for a position at BAE Systems. We made some of the best memories of our lives between all of the brunches, concerts, and outrageous only-in-New-York moments!
When Jonathan decided to pursue his passion for flying and join the Air Force as a pilot, long-distance entered the picture again. Between the time that Chloe finished her master’s degree and began working at Chanel, Jonathan began officer training in Alabama. In June of 2019, we got engaged during a weekend spent together in New York City. We were on cloud nine!
The more we envisioned a future together, the more long-distance seemed unrealistic. Coupled with the devastating and challenging circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Chloe left New York City and moved to Jonathan’s new training base in Oklahoma in 2020. We grew closer and stronger throughout the year making more memories in yet another place. Jonathan immersed himself in pilot training and Chloe began earning her Master of Business Administration.
Early this year, we found out that our next home will be in Los Angeles where Jonathan will fly the KC-135. We are beyond excited to explore such a diverse and thrilling new place. While we hoped to have a wedding celebration in Italy this year, we knew that health and safety concerns alongside travel restrictions would make it hard to do so. Two years post-engagement, we did not want to wait any longer! So, we invited our immediate families to a small ceremony in Oklahoma on June 25th. We look forward to celebrating abroad in 2022!
Five adventure-filled years, countless weekend getaways, a million sweet little moments and a darling kitten later, we feel so blessed to have met each other and begun the ultimate journey of a lifetime together.
We appreciate all of your love and support!
