Chloë & Shubham's Shaadi

Thursday, October 2, 2025 • Newton Mearns, Glasgow, UK

How long will the ceremony last?

The ceremony will last for at least 2 hours. A programme will be provided on the day detailing all the rituals and what they represent so you can follow along.

Will there be food?

Yes, a variety of vegetarian food will be served from 2pm on the day to enjoy (you can eat any time, there is no set sit-down meal like at Scottish weddings).

What should I wear?

You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. If you would like to wear a sari or Asian attire but don't know where to start or would like to borrow something, drop the couple a message and they will be happy to help. Whatever you wear, please just make sure that it covers the shoulders and knees as you will be in a place of worship. Please also avoid wearing leather or any animal-based attire. Thank you. PLEASE NOTE: you will be required to remove your shoes upon entering the temple so please wear socks if you don't want to have bare feet.

Is there assigned seating?

Ceremony Hall - Seating at the temple is a mixture of wooden pews and floor seating. Front rows and some seats will be reserved for immediate family, the bridal party, and eldery or disabled guests. Otherwise you are free to sit wherever you like on a first come first served basis. Food hall - no assigned seating. Sit at any table provided.

Is there parking?

There is a car park, but we anticipate that this will fill up quickly. However, the temple is in a residential area so there should be ample on-street parking in the surrounding area if you plan to travel by car. Please be mindful of blocking the car-park exits at the temple as this is a common issue owing to the tight layout of the carpark.

Can I Take Photos?

You are welcome to take photos or videos throughout the ceremony, and we will have a formal opportunity to take photos with the bride and groom after the ceremony. We do kindly request however that you do not live stream the event on Facebook or share photos until we have.

Should I bring a gift?

We know that most of you have spent a lot of money (as well as time and effort) to be with us on our special day/s from far and wide, and we truly appreciate that, so your being here is the only gift we need. However, if you would like to give us a little something, a card with your well wishes and/or a contribution towards our honeymoon fund would be gratefully accepted.
