Aaron and Chloe met 8 years before they married. Mutual friends had them meet in a downtown Homewood parking lot on the infamous “We Love Homewood Day.” A mutual interest was sparked, and therefore ensued a summer full of under-discussed but passionate feelings. Life got the best of them, and communication was lost. Chloe eventually moved to college and Aaron began his career in Birmingham. Few attempts at reconnection were made- a text or two- but nothing that moved into reality. When Chloe moved to Hawaii, all potential for reconnecting was thought to be lost. That is, until Chloe moved back home and they ran into each other at that same mutual friends bar: “Local 39” (which is coincidentally in the same strip that they had met 8 years prior). The intense, sheer passion felt between the two was obvious to those all around them, yet the two couldn’t even look at each other. After days of “trying to act cool” around each other, Chloe heard that Aaron was asking for her number. She couldn’t wait for his text - so much so that she decided to rip the bandaid off herself: “Hi. It’s Chloe. Would you like to talk?” Within minutes: “I would,” said Aaron. After a few agonizing hours, the two met up to talk. “The most nervous I have ever been in my entire life,” says Aaron of how he felt in the moments leading up to and during their meeting. Little did they know - they both felt the same passion and love toward each other. Within a day, Aaron had expressed his intentions for their relationship - he asked Chloe to be his girlfriend. After quickly moving in together, they realized that their shared goals of owning land, building hobbies, starting a family, and growing old together warranted finding their first home. During this process they agreed that the maturity of their love went beyond just boyfriend and girlfriend. They each feel the other is their life partner, their teammate, and their soulmate. They even frequently say, “We have the same soul.” They wed on July 5th, 2024 7/5/24, signifying the address of their first home together: 754 78th St. They realize that they have done this a little backwards: “Our story is extraordinary; it only makes sense that our marriage is too.” Says Chloe. They will host a ceremony right around their one year wedding anniversary. This ceremony will highlight the personal quirks of their relationship, as well as their achievements within not only their first year of marriage, but throughout their relationship as a whole.
