Long, long ago, and very, very far away, nothing of great importance happened. But in Springfield, Missouri on February 6, 2024, Chloe and Nathan met. The date went so well they split each other’s meals, which Nathan justified by citing the “mutual gains to voluntary trade.” Both were captivated by something-Chloe by Nathan’s willingness to speak Spanish and intellectual curiosity, Nathan by Chloe’s fascinating life story, bilingualism, sweet demeanor….and green eyes. Nathan and Chloe met two days later at a Whataburger. Both of them emerged confident this relationship possessed potential.
They shockingly became exclusive AFTER Chloe was told of Nathan’s bewildering reptile/amphibian hobby and Nathan realized the stunning breadth of Chloe’s friend circle (he is introverted). The next several months revealed substantial commonalities on what matters—faith in Christ and strong character.
After ten months of consideration, Chloe decided she didn’t want to live without the best GPS she has ever had (stick Nathan anywhere in the US and he can get home without maps), or without her most patient, adventurous, history-loving, poetic, resilient, guitarist best friend, who has been so gracious and caring toward her heart and desires, the one who makes her laugh. Nathan similarly concluded that life without Chloe’s empathetic spirit, supportive instinct, and friendship would be greatly diminished. The couple look forward to building a life and family on a foundation of faith, willingness to compromise, and joy.
