In March of 2023, Chloe went up north for staff training for summer camp. At this point, she wasn't even sure she would be spending any time there. She felt lead to stay home that summer to serve at church and be with friends before they left for college. She kind of just agreed to this weekend because her sister asked her to be there. Kyle seemed to be there the for whole weekend, for no particular reason. Chloe thought it to be kind of odd. They spent a good amount of time together though...

In May of 2023, Chloe had just returned home from a week long vacation, even more resistant to the idea of spending the summer at camp. She had gotten several texts from her best friend Karley, begging her to at least come to the work weekend so she wouldn't be alone. Finally, Chloe agreed. Chloe went up to camp for the annual Memorial Day work weekend to help open up camp and get it ready. Little did she know, Kyle would also be spending his weekend there. After lots of praying and late night talks with Karley, Chloe decided to pack up her life and spend the entirety of the summer at Huron Forest Camp CedarRidge.

Chloe could tell right away that something was different. Kyle was spending a majority of his evenings and weekends out at the camp even though he had nothing to do with the programming going on.

The summer flew by. It was coming up to Chloe's last week at camp. It was a hard, but rewarding summer. This week, little did she know, would be the most challenging. Kyle brought her flowers. The campers asked Chloe the next day why she laughs at Kyle's jokes even when they aren't funny.

After everything at camp was said and done, Chloe, Kyle and their friend Katie went into town. A tradition that follows each week of camp- except this time was special. It was just the three of them. They went to go walk the pier and Katie told them that her grandma was calling and she was going to hang back. Kyle and Chloe still walked the pier and talked about the unforgettable summer they just had. When they came back holding hands, Katie had the biggest smile on her face. (She knew what she was doing)

In August of 2023, Kyle came down to visit Chloe for this first time. They spent the day at one of their favorite places, Cedar Point. Towards the end of the day, Kyle kept asking Chloe to go on the Ferris wheel, but she refused. She knew what was coming and was too scared. The next day, Kyle asked Chloe if she would be his girlfriend.

The next several months they were focused on spending as much time as possible together. Where you saw one, the other was most likely with them.

On March 23rd, 2024 Kyle said that he had the night already planned for them for their 7 month anniversary. He took her to 7 different places around town that held a special memory for them in the past. Each location having a big red X that Kyle had handmade. At the end of the night, he brought her up the side of heart attack hill to a lookout that he had strung up lights all around. He took her hands and said "I know what you are probably thinking, that we don't have any special memories up here, not yet." He then pulled the ring box out and got down on one knee "This is it, this is our special moment" He then asked Chloe to marry him. She of course said yes!
