With miles of walking trails, wild flowers, and incredible views this arboretum will leave you appreciating the fresh air. This place also has a special place in Clay and I's hearts, because at one of the lookouts is where he asked me to be his girlfriend :).
Home to nearly 800 peonies and over 10,000 flowers at peak bloom in June, you have to check out the W.E. Upjohn Peony Garden- it's a must! The flowers are absolutely stunning.
Within the arboretum is the huron river where you can see countless people tubing as the tide takes them down the river.
This garden has something for everyone- including the little ones! There's an indoor garden with plants from around the world, nearly 3 mi of walking trails, and a variety of plants in the outdoor gardens.
Clay and I have been here too walking- like Nichol's Arboretum you get your nature fix, but you might also see the occasional deer!
There are so many attractions in downtown Detroit you will not run out of things to do. In the Winter, this park is a popular outdoor ice skating rink but in the summer it's a beach! Games like cornhole are also available to play too. There is a restaurant on the beach to access called the BrisaBar. Offered here is contemporary food with creative selections, specialty cocktails, live entertainment and happy hour!
This is on Clay and I's list of things to do!!
This is the mansion where founder of Ford Motors lived- Henry and Clara Ford. The inside of the house has so much charm and natural beauty. The gardens are incredible, and there’s a stream in the backyard. I’ve been there and was in awe the whole time!
This is on Clay and I’s list of places to go!

Not only is there axe throwing, but there’s also a restaurant so you won’t have to leave the fun!
Clay would recommend axe throwing to anyone, he is obsessed! We haven’t been to this place, but we want to go sometime!
There is so much to look at in Downtown Plymouth, like little shops and local shops. Throughout the summer there are lots of fun events happening in the town square area!
Clay and I love walking around this area to enjoy the beauty all around.
