Did it all start with a swipe? Well… not exactly.Like any good love story, Chloe and Chris’s beginning depends a little on who’s telling it. But somewhere between chance encounters, perfect timing, and a little modern technology, their story slowly (and then all at once) came together.Chloe moved to Dallas in February 2020, fresh off graduating from Miami of Ohio where she earned a degree in International Affairs with double minors in Management and French. While her time there shaped her, she often joked that the classic college experience in the middle of a cornfield was never quite her scene—and she was fairly certain Ohio was not where her story would continue.Instead, she found her spark beyond campus—sailing around the world during a Semester at Sea and spending a semester in Luxembourg, experiences that reflected her curiosity, independence, and love of exploring far beyond the familiar.So, she packed up her car, said goodbye to the suburbs of Washington, D.C., and headed to Dallas to begin a new job at Charles Schwab—equal parts excited and nervous for what lay ahead. While stepping into finance without a traditional background felt daunting, she was even more energized by the adventure of building a new life, meeting new people, and seeing where this next chapter would take her. With no real expectations (and probably too many boxes stuffed into her car), she drove to Texas—confident whatever came next would suit her far better.Chris, on the other hand, had made the move a bit earlier. Originally from Tallmadge, Ohio, a small suburb just outside Akron, he graduated from Malone University in 2018, where he played collegiate golf and earned a degree in Finance after switching from Accounting. He then headed to Dallas, where his sister Jacklyn and her husband KC had already settled, having landed a job at Charles Schwab.His early Dallas days included a $500-a-month “room” in Keller, which was actually a wood-paneled living room featuring a blow-up mattress and three roommates… making Chris the only straight guy in a house of four. Not exactly glamorous, but definitely memorable.By the time Chloe arrived, Chris had upgraded from air-mattress living and was settling comfortably into Texas life. What neither of them knew was that their paths were about to cross at a very unusual moment in time.Indeed, just a couple of weeks into Chloe’s new job, the world abruptly shut down. Offices closed, routines disappeared, and everything shifted almost overnight. On March 13th, an email arrived: the office would be closed until further notice, and all work would move remote.But instead of fully isolating, Chloe and her small cohort found ways to stay connected. With barely enough time to get to know one another, the nine of them still met at the office, learning their roles, preparing for their Series 6 and 7 exams, and holding on to a sense of normalcy in what had suddenly become a very unfamiliar world.The floors were mostly empty.Except for a few familiar faces. One of them was ChrisAt first, they were simply hallway acquaintances—quick smiles, brief hellos, nothing more. Chris worked on the service side of the business, while Chloe was on what he would later describe as a far more impressive path in the Financial Consultant Academy. During one of her rotations through his department, they started to talk—but it still felt like a passing connection, easy to overlook.Or so it seemed…Because outside the office, their worlds kept quietly overlapping.Through their mutual friend, Nick LaCroix, they found themselves at the same parties—once, then again. Each time, they talked…. There was some light flirting. And each time… nothing quite happened.If you ask Chloe what she thought during those early encounters, her answer is simple: “He was very cute.”If you ask Chris, he will tell you that there was no need to rush. After all, they worked together and shared the same circle. It wasn’t like this was their only chance.So, life went on….Chloe focused on building her new life in Dallas—work, friendships, travel, soccer, and everything in between. Chris settled into his own rhythm in the city. Over time, they became what so many almost-connections do: familiar faces, moving through the same spaces but never quite aligning.Until, finally… they did.One summer night in 2022, fate stepped in…. with a little help from Hinge.Chloe opened the app. Chris opened the app.And just like that… it was a match.After months, arguably years, of near misses, they connected in the most modern way possible.Their first official date was at Thirsty Lion in Las Colinas. Chloe later admitted she had almost canceled and not gone at all.Chris, for obvious reasons, is very glad she didn’t.From that night on, what had once been a series of “almosts” quickly turned into something undeniable, a story that had been quietly building all along, finally finding its moment to begin.And just like that … In their three years of dating, Chris and Chloe have turned life into a true adventure. Chris moved into Chloe’s condo in downtown Dallas, and together they built and settled into their home in Northlake just a year ago, proof they don’t like to sit still for long. Along the way, Chloe picked up golf and art classes, while Chris dusted off the piano (quickly earning himself a very loyal one-person fan club).During this whirlwind, they took two unforgettable work sabbaticals—first to New Zealand, then across Europe through Italy, Croatia, France, and Luxembourg—along with countless weekend getaways, sometimes just the two of them, sometimes with friends in tow.On February 8, 2025, Chris added the ultimate highlight: a perfectly planned, picture-perfect proposal. Complete with a photoshoot, a celebratory limo ride, and a romantic dinner, he got down on one knee and asked Chloe to spend forever with him. She said yes, of course—though rumor has it she was quietly impressed by just how perfectly everything had been planned and executed along the way.Since then, they have checked off more weddings, baby showers, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and celebrations than they can count, creating unforgettable memories with all of you (yes, you!). At home, it’s sports vs. shows—Chris vs. Chloe—until they call a truce over their mutual favorite: Shark Tank. Somewhere in between it all, they have also found a deep appreciation for time with their respective families, soaking up every bit of love, chaos, and laughter that comes with it….When you ask them what they love about each other, you will get the honest version. Chloe will tell you that Chris, besides being good-looking, having a million-dollar smile, and being endlessly patient and kindhearted, he has a gentle nature and an unwaveringly positive outlook on life. He has an uncanny ability to keep her grounded, bringing a quiet sense of calm and comfort even on the most chaotic, stressful days.Chris, meanwhile, will tell you that Chloe is like a kaleidoscope—full of color, depth, and ever-changing facets—always surprising him, always inspiring him, and turning even the most ordinary moments into unforgettable adventures. Life with Chloe is anything but boring, it’s always exciting, full of energy, and never quite what Chris saw coming…Together, their love is a balance of steady and spontaneous, heartfelt and humorous—where calm meets color, and where they wouldn’t have it any other way.As they prepare to begin this new chapter, they are excited for a life filled with more adventures, hopes of starting a family, and continuing to live life to the fullest surrounded by the love, laughter, and warmth of their family and friends.They are especially thrilled that you will be joining them this fall as they say “I do,” celebrate their love in full swing, and step into married life as husband and wife; and as officially certified “Schwabouple” (yes, that’s what married couples at Charles Schwab are lovingly called).See you all in California!With Love,Chloe and Chris

The venue is about a 45–60 minute drive from the coastal hotels, and the scenic ride will be well worth it. To make the day as seamless and fun as possible, complimentary shuttles will be available from two locations. Shuttles will depart from the Cape Ray Hotel at 2:30 PM and from the Hilton Garden Inn at 2:45 PM. At the end of the evening, shuttles will bring everyone safely back to both hotels so you can relax and enjoy every moment of the celebration.If you’re planning to drive directly to the venue, please be sure to allow a little extra time for Friday afternoon traffic.
