Thomas and Chloe met on Bumble in early December 2020, right as the pandemic was still raging throughout the country. Times were rough on everyone, both Chloe and Thomas had their struggles during and leading up to that year, but found each other in the midst of it. That love blossomed into the relationship they have today.
Thomas had only lived in Arizona since July of that year, travelling all the way from his hometown of Temple, Texas for a job opportunity as a teacher at Great Hearts Preparatory Academy. He graduated from the University of Dallas with a bachelor's in Politics just earlier that year.
Chloe, native to Arizona, had just graduated from Pima Medical Institute earlier that October with a certification in Veterinary Assisting, receiving her CVA, and went on to work as a veterinary technician at a family-owned animal hospital.
Thomas and Chloe started their conversation on Bumble, and quickly got each other's numbers after a couple weeks of talking. After a few dates, they made their dating anniversary official, December 29, 2020. Thomas finally met Chloe's parents on New Years 2021. They both instantly loved him, with Chloe's mom, Victoria, recounting that her intuition was telling her she was meeting her future son-in-law at the time. Chloe's father, Jeffrey, would not stop talking with him all night about each other's interests. Chloe's late grandmother, Marie, also got the chance to meet him that night, and immediately knew he was going to be a lifelong partner to Chloe.
Thomas lived in North Phoenix while Chloe lived in Mesa, making it a 45 minute drive and back just to travel to each other's places. Chloe drove every weekend to Thomas' apartment after finishing the work week so they could see each other. They went on several dates, took some trips out of town, moved to different places, and grew their relationship further throughout the years.
Thomas' family was traveling to Arizona for the National Speech and Debate Tournament in early June 2023, and Chloe finally got the chance to meet them. Chris, Thomas' father, and Tristan, Thomas' mother both fell in love with Chloe. The couple eventually traveled to Texas in late June to spend time with Thomas' family. Chloe hung out with Thomas' brothers and sisters and had the chance to see some cool things in Temple, Belton, Wichita Falls, and many other cities.
Shortly after their trip in August 2023, Thomas proposed to Chloe at Fountain Hills Park. He staged it as a regular picnic date while a photographer hid to capture the moment (check the photos section!) After the proposal, the couple finished their picnic date by the time dusk was approaching. Bats started flying above their heads and around the park while they sat on the picnic blanket, a symbol of good luck, good health, and peace.
