While Tarifa is a popular surf town, it only has one local taxi company. You'll be able to contact them by calling: +34 956 230 762 and pre-booking your taxi. If you have any difficulties booking, please let us know and we can help you.

Airport Recommendations

Unless you fancy driving, you'll need to book a flight to get to Spain. And the earlier you do this, the better! Take advantage of websites like Skyscanner to help you compare prices and get the best deal for you. (Tip: the cheapest airline is not always the one you think. For example, most airlines now charge for hand-luggage, whereas British Airways still include it in their standard ticket price).

Gibraltar International Airport (GIB) is the closest international airport to Tarifa, at only 45 minutes away. You can fly into GIB from Bristol, Manchester and London (at Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow airports), via British Airways, easyJet and Wizz Air.

If you've flown into Andalucia, you've most likely flown into Malaga Airport (AGP). Although it is further away from Tarifa (90 minutes or so), some might be more comfortable as they know the flow of the airport and the way it works. You can fly into AGP from From Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bath, London (at Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow airports). ✈️ How do I get to Tarifa? 🚗

The nearest airport is Gibraltar airport (~45 minute drive) or Malaga airport (1.5 hour drive). Unfortunately, the south of Spain isn't well-connected when it comes to public transport so we highly recommend hiring a car during your stay. If you need any help when it comes to arranging your travel, please let us know.

🏨 Where should I stay? 🏨

Tarifa is a very popular holiday spot for both the Spanish and tourists alike so there is a variety of choice when it comes to accommodation, suiting all tastes and budgets. You'll be able to see some recommendations on the <a href="https://www.theknot.com/us/chloe-mustafa-and-ian-gilmour-jun-2025/travel" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Travel</a> page. Don't forget about Air Bnb as well as there are lots of options there too. Similarly to your travel, we recommend booking early to avoid any last minute price increases. FYI - most hotels release their 2025 rooms in November.

If you're in the wedding party (you know who you are), you'll be staying at El Cortijo de Aguilon with us between 20-23 June 2025.

☀️ What will the weather be like? ☀️

As you can expect, the weather will be sunny and clear! Tarifa tends to be a little bit cooler than the rest of Andalucia during the summer so we expect temperatures to be between 22°–30°C. As a popular kite-surfing spot, it is also known for its wind which tends to be a cool sea breeze.

💃 What should I wear? 🕺

Given the expected warm weather (around 27°C), we encourage you to dress for both style and comfort. While we'd love for you to all look your best, we'd much rather see you happy, cool, and at ease. Think breezy fabrics and relaxed elegance – linen, cotton, and loose-fitting attire are all welcome. There is even a pool, so well worth bringing your swimming gear for a late night San Juan dip!

Driving from Malaga / Gibraltar1. Follow the signs to Algeciras2. Take the ring road around Algeciras3. Follow signs to Tarifa, but continue past Tarifa4.&nbsp;Continue on the N-340 down the coast5. At kilometre 68.3, entering the&nbsp;lay-by&nbsp;El Aguilon is on your right. Driving from Sevilla / Jerez:El Aguilon is on a one-way road, so you need to turn around in the entrance to Bolonia1. Follow the signs to Cádiz (E-5 / A-4)2. Take exit 101 to Algeciras3. Take the N-340 past Chiclana, Vejer, and Facinas4. 4.5km after Facinas, turn around in the entrance to Bolonia (Google maps will try to send you all the way to Bolonia and back again)5. Drive back in the&nbsp;direction&nbsp;of Facinas for 1 minute6. At kilometre 68.3, entering the&nbsp;lay-by&nbsp;El Aguilon is on your right.
