Is there a hotel block?

Yes! We have one block at the Mayo Hotel and another block at the Fairfield Inn and Suites. See the "Travel" tab for more details!

How long does a wedding mass (ceremony) last?

Around 1 hour! We will be having communion for those who are Catholic. If you are not Catholic, you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to receive a blessing in the communion line! You may also remain seated during the distribution of communion if you do not wish to receive a blessing.

May I bring my kids to the mass and reception?

Yes, absolutely! Children are welcome at both the mass and the reception. During the mass, we kindly ask that children remain seated with their guardians. If they become upset or noisy, please step into the lobby so that everyone can fully participate and enjoy the mass. We appreciate your understanding!

Can I take photos and videos during the mass?

We ask that you silence and turn off your cellphones during the mass to make sure that there are no distractions! We will have photographers and a videographer who will capture the whole mass. There will be a small amount of time after mass that you may take photos at the church.

What should I wear?

As our ceremony will be held in the cathedral, we ask that guests wear cocktail or formal attire that is both elegant and respectful of the sacred space. Think suits, long dresses, cocktail dresses, etc.—and feel free to bring a coat or wrap for warmth. You will definitely need it due to the time of year. We kindly request that guests refrain from wearing jeans or white. We also ask that no hats be worn during the mass, but they may be worn at the reception.

What should I do after the mass ends since there is a 2.5 hour gap before cocktail hour?

If you are from the area/booked a place to stay, you are more than welcome to head on home and take a break! If you want to keep the party going after the mass, we have a "Things to Do" tab with a list of bars, coffee shops, museums, and more that are close to the Mayo Hotel!

Will there be an open bar at the reception?

Absolutely! Drinks are on us :) Feel free to bring cash if you would like to tip our wonderful bartenders.
