Jacob and I met the Fall of 2021 at Highlands College. We were in the same semester, campus, and studying student ministry. Since we were around each other often, we began to hang out more. One afternoon, our campus students team had a vision dinner together. I was in charge of dinner and catering and got to choose one person from our team. I obviously chose Jacob because I wanted to get to know him more. That night, we shared our testimonies and how we ended up at Highlands College. We laughed and sang Hannah Montana and God Girl (which is a big part in our story). In that moment, I knew he was my future husband. After that night, we became inseparable. We would sit in the library for hours studying,” eat lunch together, and always sit in class together. We would find any way to hang out together. The first of October, we did something that most people wouldnt do. We gave each other matching stick and pokes. After telling Jacob, that I wanted a stick and poke for fun. He then, bought a stick and poke kit. We gave each other God boy and God girl stick and pokes that night.

We were still inseparable. I started to develop feelings for him, but never knew if he had liked me back. On October 12, 2021, we were driving home from Motion Night setup, when Jacob had confessed that he had feelings for me. I didnt believe it at first. It felt like it was a dream. That night, we set boundaries and talked about what dating would lead to. We both agreed that we would date to marry and that is exactly what God had intended. After that night, we began to hang out more and more and talk about a future together. He would come over to my house and watch movies almost every night. A couple of months fly by, and he asks me on a date on my birthday. I say yes, of course. He didn’t tell me where we were going though, it was a complete surprise. He picks me up at my house with my favorite flowers. We ended up going to P.F. Chang’s which is one of my favorite restaurants. While we were sitting at our booth talking, he then asks me the question, “Will you be my girlfriend?” I was so excited!! I said yes! To end the night, we went to target to grab a sweet treat and went back to my house to watch a movie (our favorite hobby). For the next year and a half we spent countless hours getting to know each other and following more in love. Then on November 19th at a Christmas Tree farm Jacob asked me to spend my life with him. Of course, I said YES! It was such a special moment.

It has not always been easy, but it has been so rewarding living in the faithfulness of God. We don’t have it figured out but we do know that God is truly in the middle of it all. I can’t believe I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!!
