Our Wedding

Nathan and I met through the dating app bumble! We started talking in October of 2023 and even went on our very first date to my favorite Mexican restaurant Tacos & Tequila! I remember being so nervous about meeting Nathan, I even told my sister “this one better work out or I’m going to give up”. Thankfully for me Nathan was a real gentleman! Our first date ended up with us having a second one planned where I totally thought Nathan had ghosted me. I hadn’t heard from him all day. But turns out he was just at a fire and had forgotten his phone. Even though we had to reschedule our second date, he did make it up to me so I decided to forgive him. From that point we have been pretty much inseparable!

How did we meet? 

Nathan and I started dating officially in December of 2023. Nathan had been keeping me a secret but that was becoming increasingly hard to do. Especially because we had been hanging out just about everyday together since October. Soo Nathan decided to finally go public with me. Now he’s unable to get rid of me :) 

When did we start dating? 

It quickly became apparent that Chloe was the one I was going to spend the rest of my life with. It’s hard in life to find someone who goes for all your crazy ideas and puts up with a busy schedule but Chloe did just that. I was spending the year in paramedic school while working full time and also spending many extra days and evenings at the firehouse. Chloe never complained, when I wasn’t at work or school she would always be right there beside me. Going to whatever function I had scheduled in my already busy life. From Millikin sporting events to fire truck parades, she was always right there with me. This was very important for me as, it truly showed how much she loved and cared about me. As a guy who is a little timid when it comes to commitment if you couldn’t tell from how long it took me to make her my girlfriend. Her constant support and encouragement helped me see how important she was to me. Chloe would always joke with me about when we would get engaged and as stated above I’m not the best at committing I would always give her some date that I thought would never come. After about 11 months of our crazy lives we were passing through the mall and I decided to take her to Kay’s to get a taste of what her ring styles would be. After spending time in there and seeing how she reacted to a certain ring combination I knew that was the one. A few weeks later I went back and ordered the ring. The ring came in 2 days before our one year anniversary. After we celebrated our one year anniversary, the next day I went to Chloe’s mom’s house to ask her step dad and her mom for permission to marry her. After they gave me their blessing, they asked if I had a time frame of when I was going to do it. Which at 3pm on that day I didn’t have any idea. However, on my 15 minute drive home I thought to myself what’s the sense in waiting. So I came home and made Chloe quickly get ready and we went to Allerton Park to the light display they have set up. As we went through the park I was very nervous and basically dragging Chloe around to find the perfect spot. But once I got to the tunnel of lights I knew it was the perfect spot. I let it clear out and we walked to the middle and I stopped her. I then got down on one knee and looked up into her beautiful eyes. And then in all reality I forgot what to say. So I looked at her puzzled for a second and said “You wanna get married” not my smoothest moment but it worked because she said Yes!
