The Avenue Coffeehouse

The vision for The Avenue Coffeehouse was inspired by the rich history and culture of Historical Indiana Avenue in Indianapolis, IN.

Indiana Avenue was the epicenter of Black culture and commerce in Indianapolis from the 1860’s to the 1970’s. “The Avenue” was to Indiana what Harlem is to New York. On the Avenue, people could find Black churches, doctors, lawyers, cafes, restaurants, jazz clubs and other Black owned establishments.
