We met like most modern couples, online.
Chris tried to put Nick off for a few weeks since she was headed to Yellowstone with family. He figured out she had exactly one free afternoon before she left. They met up for a walk, that turned into a 4 mile hike on Forbidden Drive.
When they didn't stop talking the whole hike, it turned into dinner in Chestnut Hill. And chatting via text for the next 10 days! Chris shared her new found knowledge of the Yellowstone landscape, flora and fauna. Nick shared about the new dog, Luna, he and his daughters picked up.
The summer was spent exploring more gardens so Chris could get stamps in her touristy book, and painting rooms in Nicks house. There were also trips to Home Depot for repairs to investment properties or to put the finishing touches on rooms in the house. The dog became a trusty sidekick for adventures in various parks and forests.
Fast forward a little over a year that covers some PA vacations, a couple cars, many dog walks, meeting families and friends in many states and life was pretty great. One Friday they made a plan to go to Bethlehem for the Christkindle Market and to meet friends for dinner. (The ring came in on Thursday.)
Nick stopped Chris in the dining room with her coat still on. He said sweet things, including that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He tried to put the ring on the wrong hand. And as they hugged, Chris finally said (while admiring her beautiful floral Amethyst ring) "this is a yes! A really big yes!!"
We can't wait to share our Yes to each other with each of you in July.
