Will there be a dress code?
Yes. Please refrain from wearing red but feel free to wear white, ivory, or any of the other bridal colours. Spicy shirts are encouraged; think Hawaiian, bowling, or patterned shirts. Overall, smart casual is fine. If you don't want to wear a tie, don't! If you want to wear jeans... no... it's a wedding... Christ, have some respect...
Where's best to stay in Brighton?
There are a number of different options in Brighton, including hotels and on Air BnB.
We would recommend that you consider places close to the seafront, as these will be closest to the venues for the ceremony and the reception.
We have put together a list of hotel possibilities on the Travel page.
We would recommend looking for a spot that also includes parking, as charges in central Brighton can become quite costly!
There may also be a select number of apartments to stay in at the reception venue, subject to availability and confirmation from the venue; these will be reserved for family and friends travelling from afar.
What are the best ways to get to Brighton and around the city?
Brighton is well-connected by both road and rail. The A27 is the main road running through the city, connecting it to other major towns and cities. By train, Brighton has its own station with frequent services to London and other parts of the South East.
A taxi rank can be found outside the train station, and there is also one close to the ceremony venue. The local taxi company, Streamline Taxis, are really reliable - 01273 202020. Uber also operates within the city.
Will it take long to get between the venues?
Not at all; the Registry Office is in Brighton Town Hall, which is right next to The Mesmerist.
Patterns, our chosen venue for the continued celebrations, is around an 8 minute walk from the Town Hall.
If you're unsure as to how to get to each venue, our local contingency of guests will happily lead the way!
Can we bring our children?
Whilst we love your little ones; to ensure an evening of relaxation and enjoyment for all our adult guests, we've chosen to host an adults-only celebration. Only our nieces and nephews will be in attendance for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, and they will be off to bed before the evening reception begins.
We hope you understand and respect our decision, and can look forward to a memorable evening filled with laughter, great food, and wonderful company.
How can we contribute towards your special day?
We're incredibly grateful for your love and support as we begin this new chapter together. As we embark on our new life together, we're excited to share this special time with you.
As we've already filled our home with everything we need, we're excited to focus on creating lasting memories on our honeymoon. If you'd like to contribute to our honeymoon fund, it would be greatly appreciated.
Can we document the day?
We'd gladly welcome you taking photos throughout the day, though please leave that duty during the ceremony to our wonderful photographer. We have also found an app called POV that creates a shared photo album that all of our guests can see. Much like a disposable camera, you will have a limited number of pictures to submit, so use them wisely! The album is open for you all to view 12 hours after the wedding has finished. You do not need to download the app just follow the link or scan the QR code that will be on the tables.
