First off, we are so excited and feel exceedingly blessed to have so many people from our lives taking the time and effort to come to our Wedding in Charlotte. We understand this service will be a little different than what you may be used to, but promise it's nothing to worry about!
If you have questions on what an Orthodox service may require, here is a short guide that may answer some of those questions:
Attire
Women should wear modest dresses with backs, and avoid tank tops, short skirts, and skin-tight clothing. Men should wear clean dress pants and collared shirts or sweaters.
Devices
Turn off your phone before entering the sanctuary. Silence your mobile devices and avoid personal conversations while sitting.
Seating
Allow others to sit or stand where they feel comfortable, especially making room for visitors. Follow the priest's direction for standing and sitting.
Eating and drinking
Avoid chewing gum, mints, or candy. Don't bring candles to the altar during certain parts of the service.
Head coverings
Some women choose to cover their heads during worship. It is not required.
