We met years ago at a time that just wasn't right for either of us. We kept in touch off-and-on throughout the next several years as friends while we each continued our own lives.

Fast-forward to September of 2021, we were both single, and Chris FINALLY asked Kassi to get together for a night of mini golf and pizza. We have been inseparable since that evening.

After sharing two apartments and each of us taking turns in Ankeny and Des Moines for a few months, we decided to move in together in April of 2022. Chris and Bailey moved into Kassi and Nala's place in Ankeny, and everybody had to learn how to share a small place pretty quickly! Almost a year later, we moved into our first home together in West Des Moines.

Right before our 2-year dating anniversary in 2023, Chris popped the question! We were kayaking on Raccoon River Park Lake, and we had stopped for a little picnic on the sandbar. We were just about to get back out on the water when Chris pulled out the ring and proposed with a speech that made us both shake. Of course, Kassi accepted the beautiful token of love. They both knew that they were meant to live a fun life together!

We found the venue that the wedding will be held at just one weekend following the engagement and have been dreaming up the plans to make this event special for not only us but for all of you, as well!

We look forward to having each of you celebrate our big day with us! We will have a short ceremony under beautiful fall trees (weather permitting) followed by a cocktail hour with some of our favorite wines and beers for you to try out by a cool, old farm silo turned into a bar, we'll have snacks, then a buffet dinner in a heated tent. Once dancing is started and the night goes on, we will have a dessert bar, including fall treats, a hot cocoa bar and s'mores bar. We will also have board games for those who don't dance.
