We are super excited to share this moment with you, and we’re even more excited that you want to share it with us. December 4th is coming quickly and we honestly can’t wait. We wanted to make this website as a fun way for us to involve all of you, and to give you updates about the wedding. We enjoyed every moment up to this point and it has made us even more excited about our big day. As most of you already know, we are not ones that share a ton of our relationship. Most of you get updates and information when we happen to talk with one another. I mean we didn’t even make a post about our engagement. We instead decided to nonchalantly just tell everyone in passing hahahahaha…. But that is who we are. We love our friends and our family, without any of you our paths may never have crossed. With this website, we wanted to give you a tiny sneak peak into, US… AND REMEMBER…keep coming back here to find updates. We think this will be easier than having to message each and every single one of you individually. We can’t wait to see everyone for our fun filled week in sunny Southern California, see you in San Diego!!!!!

Our Wedding

Our story, well, it actually begins back in the fall of 2019. We both were enrolled in school and busy completing our clinical portions. Audrey: nursing, Myself: Paramedic, as you all know already. On one particular day, we had both been assigned to a rotation in the ER at MMC. At the time, MMC had just switched over to a new style of IV catheter. Who knew that something that small would have led to everything it has. Anyways, I had quickly learned and became successful with the new catheters. This is important to the origin of how we met. Audrey had not had much experience with IVs and had been struggling. Ironically, one of Audrey’s best friends in nursing school, and to this day, Alyssa was dating one of my good friends Sean, who was also in Paramedic school with me. Quick shout out to them, they are married now!! Back to our story….Audrey looked for him to help her with her IV skills. But Sean was not a fan of the new IV catheters and was struggling with them himself. Just like that, Sean called me into the room to also help. Or if you ask Audrey, I ran into the room behind Sean because I was drawn to her beauty. Either way both of us thinking nothing of it really at the time, introduced ourselves to one another. I gave her some tips that I thought would help in the future… And we parted ways. That really was it. Side note specific to the room we met in…the patient at the time was a known “regular” with first responders and MMC, so second shout out to him. We may have never met if he hadn’t been there. Now, let’s flash forward a few months…about four to be more exact. Audrey was headed to the outlet malls in El Paso with her mom. And if you know how close Audrey and her mom are, it’ll come to no surprise that on the way, Audrey was talking to her mom about some random firefighter man. Audrey had found me on instagram and was contemplating adding me but in her words, “seemed desperate requesting a dude you met once, months ago.” So shout out number three here, it was actually Lupita who convinced Audrey to “just do it.” Casually, within probably seconds, I accepted and asked to follow her back. You would think the story gets better here. It does not. She did accept me to follow her back and that was really the end of that. A couple of super outgoing romantics we have here…To be completely honest, at the time, I hadn’t really recognized who Audrey was and how I had met her. It wasn’t for about three weeks until I did, with help. I actually had met up with some of my friends at Icebox for a couple of beers. Two of them, Yt and Sean, who were in medic school with me. Hoping they could help me, I showed them her profile and asked “please tell me how I know this girl?” Yt was completely clueless. Sean almost immediately responded with, “oh f***, that’s Alyssa’s friend, I was supposed to tell you weeks ago!” And with all my confidence and charm, I decided to slide into Audrey’s DMs. Hit her with the, “So this is random but we met at MMC right? During clinicals?” I know, I know, super smooth….but hey it worked!Shortly after that, Covid hit and everything was shut down. For months we just talked, through instagram. We both feel that had the world not been shut down, we wouldn’t have gotten to know each other like we did in such a short period of time. It was a solid 3-4 months of talking before the first time we actually met up to hang out. One short month later, Audrey and I took a trip to Ruidoso with my friends Chris and Andrea. It was there that I officially asked Audrey to be my girlfriend. One last quick shout out to them for our quick Covid weekend getaway. Since then, we have been living life and building our life together!! This was definitely the short version of the beginning of our story. There’s so much more to those initial few months. As we were sitting here talking about it we could have gone on for hours and hours about. But we want to end with this, we are happy to have all of you in our lives, and we are excited for you all to join us and be a part of our story. -Chris and Audrey

Joseph and Chris became best friends years ago while cleaning up the station and blasting “Roll Up” by Whiz Khalifa. Joseph loves his pool and a good concert. But the ones that have his heart are his dogs

Lizzie and Audrey are more than friends, they’re sisters, a girls first friend. They’ve grown up, played sports, went to college, and even worked together. You can’t build a stronger bond any other way. Lizzie loves coffee, a good audiobook, but most of all being momma to her little Elijah.

Josh and Chris ended up on the same crew for some time and basically became like two peas in a pod. They bonded over being “truckies”, music and good vibes. Josh loves his wife, his dodgers, and using his smoker to make delicious meals. And if you can’t tell, his mustache is pretty great too.

From the moment she heard we were getting married, she had one thing to say, “can I be in the wedding?” Our little one is probably the sweetest person you’ll ever meet: no bias. She loves playing volleyball and her dogs and recently has a love for making and eating salsa.

JJ and Chris initially bonded over their love of reggae music. One concert later, the friendship was sealed. JJ loves anime and comic books. Most of all he’s the guy that will do anything for his friends and family. You can hear his laugh for miles and its very contagious.

Lety and Audrey met in the halls of MMC where they quickly sparked a friendship. Unknown at the time, we built houses on the same street. From the best of friends to the greatest of neighbors #fullbloom. Lety loves a good adventure hiking or kayaking. When not out and about you can catch her living on her fur babies. Fun fact, Lety hails from the streets of Hatch and might actually bleed red or green….or Christmas!!

There’s true mystery and myth to the origins of how Chris and Chris became friends. Regardless the story, it ends with a best friend. Chris loves a good adventure, golfing, and cooking a good meal. And let’s be honest, he runs for fun.

Alyssa and Audrey knew of each other growing up, but were never actually part of the same friend groups. Flash forward, they ended up in the same nursing program at NMSU and built a forever friendship. Alyssa loves her dogs, the Dallas Cowboys, and Bad Bunny.

After first making the decision to have a destination wedding. Our next choice was who would marry us. This was probably the easiest decision to date. Mychal has been with us through many trips and adventures. From reggae concerts to house parties to family movie nights, Mychal is our ride or die, and we feel privileged to have him marry us!

Q + A

We do have a block of rooms set aside at the Empress Hotel. We are looking for others, we understand everyone needs a place to stay. As we move forward, we will update everyone here if we find additional hotels to set up room blocks. We will also list of other places to stay on the chance that the room blocks fill up due to the hotel’s capacity. We’re doing our best to make this trip as least stressful for you as well. Most of the places posted here with be within minutes of the venue.

Where to stay…

This is the hotel we currently have a room block with. To book a room here, you will need to stay a minimum of two nights. Two days on either side of the official block dates will still get you the wedding rate, if rooms are available, and you’re choosing to arrive early or stay a little longer. You can login into the hotels website and use the above booking code. Click on special codes and rates. Then make sure to choose GROUP CODE, then enter the above block code. The actual room rate will not show until you click on book now, so don’t worry that it shows the wrong price rate. That’s due to California law according to the Hotel. If you are having trouble booking in the room block please let us know. You can also contact the hotel directly and ask to speak with either Ransom or Darlene. They are the two assisting with our room block and will be able to assist you with booking issues.

Still waiting to hear more from this hotel. It’s super close to the venue, but they might be shut down for renovations. We will update here if that changes. ***Update 5/5/25: we heard back from the hotel. They will be starting some early renovation work by the wedding. They will be staying open to book. This is still an option if you are willing to deal with the early stage of their renovations going on.***

If you know us, you know that we are always looking for somewhere to go. We love to take little trips together. And as you all know now, our relationship officially started on a weekend trip.The San Diego area has always been top of the list for us. Since 2020, we have made the trip at least once every year. In 2025 we are excited that this year’s trip will include all of you. So we thank you for joining us here for our wedding. Our hope is that you take the opportunity to enjoy a weekend getaway and also make a quick vacation for yourselves. Here are a few ideas to help you love Southern California as much as we do: -Chris and Audrey

Finding the Love

Only minutes from where the reception is being held, La Jolla has beautiful areas to enjoy views of the ocean. The child’s pool specifically, used to be an area for kids but has been taken over by seals. You can catch them swimming or sun bathing. The best part is taking a walk down the rock path and being surrounded by the ocean. The feeling is breathtaking!!

What a better experience than to sit at the edge of the ocean and watch the sunset. Sunset Cliffs is the perfect spot to enjoy some of the most amazing views.

One of our most favorite things to do is brunch. Every time we are in San Diego our first stop is Breakfast Republic. This is a must wake up early for delicious food, good coffee, and a morning drink.

One of our favorite areas during our trips to San Diego, Belmont Park keeps us young at heart. Smaller on the scale of amusement parks, but it is packed with fun. You can find yourself enjoying the rides, mini golf, laser tag, arcade, escape room, and carnival games. This place always makes us feel like kids again and enjoy the small things in life.

Pizza definitely had a soft spot in our hearts and this place holds the top spot for us. Pizza Port is definitely a must while in SD. Who doesn’t love good pizza and great beers! Our favorite is in OB. The plus side it’s within walking distance to the beach.

We love our food, views, and drinks. This place has all three. We come here for their delicious fish tacos. Get there early enough and head upstairs to sit in the patio area and catch the view of the water and the OB pier. Enjoy some tacos and a drink or two, we know you’ll enjoy it like we do!

South Beach Bar and Grille 

This is only a handful of things we have enjoyed personally. It goes without saying there is a ton more to do while in San Diego. There are tons and tons of restaurants, bars and breweries. You’re bound to find something you’re looking for when it comes to food or drinks. There’s also plenty to do. We didn’t even touch on the zoo, SeaWorld, Balboa Park, the Gaslamp District, or simply hitting the beach. It’s easy to see why we fell in love with this destination.

Hello friends and family we wanted to give a quick update on our room block. We were notified that our initial block was filled!!!! That makes us excited because that means you all will be there in December with us!!! With that said, we added a few more rooms to the block that are available now. To add to that, we know a few people were having issues with getting the wedding block rate. We finally figured out the issue. The problem is occurring when you enter the wedding code that we gave out under the travel section here. The hotel considers it a group code. NOT a promo code. If you make that change when entering it, it should be fine. If you have booked a room and you weren’t sure if you’re in the block, just let us know and we can have the hotel search your reservation. Update 09/03/2025

As we are sitting here talking wedding things, we realized that we have probably not told most of you a very important piece of information. Our reception is scheduled to be done by 10pm. But being it is our wedding night, we definitely did not want the night to end there.Not to worry, we have booked us a good old fashioned after party!! Once the reception is over, we have the back patio reserved for us down the road at Hennessey’s Tavern where the party doesn’t stop until 2AM. And the crew there is already excited for us to come out and party!! Trust us, it’s not far from the reception or hotel for that matter. We walked it back in July, only took us 5 minutes on a slow stroll. It is quite literally down the street. Can’t wait to see you all in December!! - Chris &amp; Audrey P.S. We are counting down the days. Not only to the big day but to the deadline of being able to send in your RSVP. Just as a reminder that deadline is October 31st!! We would love for all of you to come but if you cannot we completely understand. We just ask that regardless of the answer please RSVP so we can get an accurate count to the venue. Those of you that haven’t sent in your RSVP were sent a reminder yesterday. The link in that message brings you to the website to RSVP.
